Recently started playing FFXI again, I'm starting from scratch with a brand new account and everything.
My main concern right now is that I'm not sure what the population of the lower level characters are and if people are still in Valkrum Dunes. Is there still a good sized lvl 12-30 group? (or people playing their lower level jobs?) Im curious because I would much rather prefer not to solo till 30! >< haha. If not would anyone be interested in forming a static party to level 30? I am a RDM and im cruisin along right now, (dusting off the ole' macros wasnt as bad as i thought it was going to be!)

The bad news is that, with the arrival and expansions of Abyssea, every server (AFAIK) is experiencing a lower than usual number of folks PLAYING lower-level jobs lately. This is essentially because Abyssea is crack; most folks with a higher-level job want to do that instead of level their newer jobs.
The good news is that, with the advent of FOV and Level Sync, those who ARE playing lower-level jobs can make full parties much more easily with the limited numbers.
Also, there are a few oddballs among the veteran players, like me, who play a lot of lower and medium-level jobs despite Abyssea being out there. (I find Abyssea not so much "fun" as "hugely rewarding for xp," if that makes sense. I've had more fun leveling my little Taru PLD from 1-37 in the past two months than getting quick xp and merits in Abyssea.)
The key is finding a good linkshell. Consider visiting cynosure-online.com, for one option. If we aren't for you, then I can think of at least two others to try where you will get the support you need.

Me and 2 other friends just joined this server...our main town is Windurst I'm 18RDM, friend is 17BLM, and 10 WMG(just got her to play xD)...iunno but w/e find me xD

I also came back 3 days ago and my former LS was broken and i cant find anyone anymore :(
Im a lvl57 Ninja now and played this game from release for almost 4 years - then had to create a new account and started over again with this one.
Well...i know to achieve anything i need a good LS - and thats what i am asking for now. Is there any good LS that might take a dedicated player like me even with no lvl75+ job? Im working on getting levels tho :)
