Chocobo Digging in FFXIV? :: Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV, FF14)

Hey Everyone,

First time poster, long time lurker -- with a quick question. I've always loved chocobo digging, and did it to death in FFXI. I was wondering if Yoshi-P ever mentioned anything about it in ARR. I like to think I'm pretty up-to-date on their news, but maybe something slipped through the cracks Smiley: rolleyes

If it's not implemented, I'll likely end up poor in-game since digging is the only type of gathering I can stomach lol. Thanks for any feedback!

I liked this in FFIX, not as much in XI (I didn't play Chocobo Hot and Cold though, which I gather was sorta the same thing). I would welcome its return.

If I remember right, yoshi p has heard of this request and said he'd consider it, but he did mention that they will have treasure chests you can find in the world that only gatherers can find. It'll be something similar to how you could ride your chocobo around the world map and find treasure chests.

Oh, you're talking about the Chocographs. I liked those, but I believe they were more of a riddle. The actual Chocobo hot/cold digging game in IX is what I was talking about.

I honestly don't remember anymore what everything is called in FFIX. My friend was evil and "borrowed" my game and then when I asked him for it back a month later he acted like I never let him borrow it... I haven't been able to pay it since and that was years ago. I know Yoshi was asked about this a long time ago and I think he talked about it all in the same answer. It's like he bunched it all together like they were good ideas he would consider later on when he could implement them.

Well, I thought they were both good elements... actually I felt that FFIX probably did the mini-games and side-games better than any in the series. Something like the Chocographs would likely end up the kind of thing that people just google, but it could be a good way to encourage exploration all the same.

I would like to see the Chocobo World reintroduced with my PocketStation. (Those are links)

Haha, that would be so cool. I have been playing, almost done with, FFVIII and this is by far the coolest thing a FF game has ever done. What could be a better way to have me 100% invested in FFXIV? I smell a perfect FFXIV Chocobo Raising app, or Racing app, that could make a lot of money if it were connect to the in game servers and accounts, WHAT!?
