Ok, so the last Final Fantasy I played was FFXI and now im quite confused what has happened to 14 so if someone can light it up for me?

I understand they released 14, but it was a big fail so they QUIT it and now they are remaking it and REreleasing it soon? so my questions are

1. When (approximatly) is it out in the stores?
2. Will everyone start over from scratch, or will the ones who played 14 before it got scrapped be able to continue on their charachters?
3. Is it going to have an epic story like FFXI? I loved the chains of promathia story and missions before the nerf.

Thank you :)

1. They are looking at summer release. If I had to guess, I'd say July roughly.

2. You can continue your characters from 1.0. Also, in the Open Beta, they have stated that you will be able to save your data to transfer over to the game once it goes live. This could be changed still, but as of now that's how it stands.

3. Only time will tell, but I'd say it should be fairly compelling. The direction of the game has changed dramatically since Yoshi-P took over, and much of it has improved, so I'd like to think/hope that the story will only continue to get better as well. If you mean epic in terms of difficulty, we won't know until it's available, but I think it's a pretty safe bet it won't be as difficult as CoP was on release. Can't say I blame them for that, considering 95% of players couldn't beat CoP on release.

The new team redesigned 1.0's story while the game was being rebuilt. If the last mission is any indication of what's coming for ARR, then I'm looking forward to the epicness. I don't think it's spoiler tag worthy since no one can do it anymore anyhow. I filmed this with my character after they said we wouldn't be able to view these cutscenes in "A Realm Reborn" anymore.

Thanks for filming that. I know I'm going to want to go back and view the quest/mission cutscenes from 1.0. You'd think SE would have the sense to public archive the stuff themselves, but it's good that players are picking up the slack.

Before any conspiracy theories arise out of those videos, I do want to make things clear.

-I recorded that from the inn, which is like watching those CS's in a Goblin Footprint if you played FFXI.
-Party members appear in your cutscenes in FFXIV which may cause some of the camera angles to be weird when viewing it again by yourself.

Thanks for clarifying, I was actually a little confused as to how you solo'd the end boss. It would be cool if it had recorded your actual party footage instead of just you, but still neat that you could at least replay it to save it.

Someone has archived most of the missions, I think. I had asked about it some months ago but never got around to watching them.

I didn't have Fraps at the time I did the mission the first time, and you probably wouldn't want us yelling over ventrilo on the fight anyway for nuking meteors before they land and stuff like that.

I love how Fraps catches the audio from chat, I think that is more fun than watching the fights sometime Smiley: thumbsup I've had my paid version for years now and I never regret it.

I got bandicam that i believe its lighter than FRAPS, can capture in-game audio but no voice from mic. For that i use my camstasia studio that was given to me as a present. I really like both but i never used FRAPS to be honest but i've been told its pretty heavy (not that camstasia isn't but w/e).

Really, I never heard it was resource intensive. Unless you are referring to the resulting file sizes, which are quite large due to the fact that FRAPs doesn't do any encoding, it's raw video that needs to then be compressed.

You know what, yes. It was about the file size. I remember guys telling me the size is too big to upload it. In all honesty camstasia is a bit heavy but lets you edit your file and then upload it in the site of your choice or just save it in your pc compressed and in hd resolution.

I use windows movie maker to compress them, it's fairly painless. They don't do encryption while recording so it doesn't affect framerates as much as possible.

I don't have a video of when we won Nael Van Darnus the first time, but I do have a screenshot that an LS member took when we did win the first time. Megaflare screwed us up pretty badly because we didn't expect it and guides for the fight weren't up yet.
