Greetings all!
Fernehalwes here for a quick post before getting back to that mountain of FATE text on my desk.

I was passing by the marketing area when I spied something of interest lying on one of their coffee tables...
Screenshot

HEY! "World of Wapcra" stole our Miqo'te bard! Someone alert the lawyers! Sue baby! Sue!

What? This is the newest edition of respected Swedish MMO magazine "Level Presents : World of Warcraft" and they're doing a ten-page spread on FINAL FANTASY XIV?

OHHHHHH! I knew that. Thanks Level! You guys are the greatest! Forget that part about the lawyers (they don't listen to me anymore anyway after that spat we had about 'Get to the Copper').

Id hate to say it but i wouldnt exactly call these blog posts "news". Now the letters from the producer on the other hand.. yes
#5 May 14 2013 at 8:05 AM Rating: Default
Yeah, they aren't really even significant enough to be blogs or journal posts.

They're like... tweets.

Kinda stinks we have all this communication this time around and all we get is this bozo.

I don't mind the posts since they are usually light-hearted, but I agree that there hasn't really been any information released in them for a while.

The producer letters tend to be substance, the blog posts tend to be fluff.

That's fine. There's nothing wrong with fluff. It's good to know that there are actual human beings working on the game and not mindless automatons. But it does kind of feel like it's been a while since we've gotten some substantive news.

It's been a whole 3 days since the last letter from the producer. That's like an eternity in Final Fantasy fan years!

Did you read the last letter? Everything posted in it has already been posted elsewhere. It was definitely nice to have it officially announced by Yoshi, but the last letter didn't give us anything new. The only new information recently has been the stuff added to the website (mostly screenshots and some blurbs about beastman tribes). No need to be sarcastic about it.

it is especially when youve been waiting for this game for 3 years, then they take it down in november to get it ready for you and now you have to sit through (and wait through) the "worlds longest beta" that you cant/dont play for 9 months before you finally get it.

Very True. Though it is a bold claim that FFXIV will be the one. I hope this IS the case. But in reality.. Its not very likely lol

lol probably you're right. But speculation is fun especially when it's an official source posting such a bold claim and not John Q Forum poster

I'm swedish and if I got a penny for every cellphone the magazines called the new Iphone-killer I would be filthy rich. I doubt they actually suggest ARR will "defeat" WoW, it is more likely just the headline for a regular article about the FFXIV revamp which ends with something like "Yoshi has done okay so far but whether or not it is enough to fight with the big boys remains to be seen".

Kind of slow on the ARR front atm though so I might pick it up to see what they think so far.
