And do you plan on recreating them in FFXIV? I don't, but I remember them well...

My first character was Krayt. Windurstian Tarutaru. Main job was Dragoon with Warrior and White Mage as sub-jobs. My wvyern's name was Oboro. This guy was awesome.

I quit for a while and came back years later and made Mace, a Sand'Orian Hume. Samurai/Warrior. I had planned on making him a Ninja at some point but I retired from the game before that.

Not going to recreate but my only character was Skinwalker the Dancing Mithra. Proudest moment was soloing DNC to 75. Could usually be found fighting EXP parties for mobs or camping NMs to attempt to solo Smiley: grin

That doesn't sound like too bad of an idea...Despite my short run in FFXI, I was rather fond of Titus, my San d'Orian Elven Monk/White Mage. I think I might reincarnate him back again as a Duskwight Elven :3

hehe i miss my nina it was super fun to play.

That was the job that i pushed to it's limits. I showed people nin could DD just as hard as other DD's (not for HNM and stuff, but merit parties/missions/quests/random difficult NM's). I also tanked like a boss, using my own way of tanking, and giving some of those high end paladins a run for their money.

The hardest thing i ever tanked on ninja was bahamut V2. It definatley wasn't the cleanest fight because as /drk i wasn't allowed to cast stun, but it was definatley a challenge. I had to fill the roll of tank that run because our paladin just couldn't do it for some reason. The LS leader admitted he wasn't expecting to win and was impressed lol (we didn't burn it, LS wanted a video of the complete fight).

lol i wasn't expecting to go to nostalgia town today. thanks for making me glad ffxi was my home for so long.

No. I was a Hume THF to start in FFXI.

I always regretted a little bit not picking Mithra when I saw their SA/TA numbers.

Granted when you play a game so much you start to focus on the minutiae and really we're only talking about maybe 200hp difference, but at the time it was a huge difference as all of the greatest THFs were Mithra.

---

So this time I'll pick a Miquote just in a weird honor/respect sort of thing for a more dexterous class, although I've heard that racial stats don't really make a difference.

I actually went with mithra over taru because I figured if I was going to be staring at something for the next few years it might as well be pretty.

There's that too. I didn't want to be a female character (as a male) because I didn't want to be harassed, and the name of my first character Kierkegaard, didn't really make too much sense as a female, lol.

Now the only thing I need to think about is the name. I'm actually not a fan of the name/surname, but I'll probably go by the lore/naming handbook thing I saw that was posted on the Lodestone a while back...

My character's name in 1.0 was Hawaiian. I actually have 2 names in mind for my new lalafell, both pretty silly but it is what it is.

My character in FFXI was Bartel. Since then, I've made a Bartel in every mmo I've played, including XIV 1.0. I will continue that legacy in ARR. Not necessarily because I think it's the most brilliant name ever, but because of the sheer nostalgia of it, and because that's what most of my gamer friends know me as. That, or Dave. (gasp, my real name on a forum! Oh the humanity!)

I do the same. I'd imagine a lot of people do.

In almost every MMO I've played I've been Kovu/Covu. FFXIV was the first time I used 'Broken Fox' because of the First name/Surname system. It was inspired by Gray Fox from Metal Gear Solid Smiley: cool

My first character Arowen, was a human female from Bastok. Some guy in my LS convinced me that if I wanted to be a great DRG someday that I'd have to reroll Elvaan. I did and I ended up hating my character.. after reaching 75 with MNK, RNG, and THF, I ended up rerolling a Mithra BLM named Zanarkand. She only got to the 40s before I quit. I hated that goofy Elf.. his animations were ridiculous and he ran like a turtle.

Going Mi'qote right off the bat, just as I did in 1.0 and sticking with it. I like furries.

I actually already recreated my FFXI character, Kaelanis, in XIV, though I didn't use him as my main.

I will probably recreate my XI character so people can find me if they search for me but I doubt i'll use it much - just make it look pretty lol

My FFXI Character was an Elvaan named DamienSlvrblade. He had the blonde chilli bowl haircut. I remember picking it primarily because it had the youngest looking face out of the bunch. I doubt I would make my FFXIV character look the same, as there is probably going to be quite a bit of that going around already, but we'll see how the options look. I doubt I'll use the same name since I'm sure no one would remember me from my hayday 5 years ago. Much to my surprise more than one time I had players think my name was "Damien's lover, Blade" >.>. Besides, from what I've gathered whispering people seems like it might be a pain in the *** in FFXIV (at least it was in 1.0) so I have a feeling that having a super long name might hinder your progress somewhat.

Smiley: lol You couldn't capitalize beyond the first letter in FFXI so it would look like Damienslvrblade. I can see how people would get it mixed up.

Indeed XD. Damn you 15 character limits! I had to shorten it to DamienScott for Wow's 12 char limit... then my name got flagged for not being RP enough for them >.> so I had to change it to Ðamien (wow, I remembered the alt code lol).

It did look decent in the party window though, it was abbreviated to Damiens...

Hahaha! Well thank you, now that I've seen that I can never un-see it. It shall haunt my dreams until the end of time. Even more so than me forgetting the password to my DamienScott account on here and having to ad an arbitrary S to this one. QQ

I think I'll only be sticking to the same jobs. I'm waiting for Samurai to be introduced...most likely will be in an expansion, which may take a while. I didn't put much thought into my FFXI name because I really wanted the option for a first and last name. I will be a Hyur, though. My FFXI character was Hume.

My XI name was Katara because I wanted a Mithra, but in most games I go by Anakte. I created Katara for XIV but I'll either switch her to male Miqote or Male Elf on release if I don't like the design of the male cats.

My Legacy character is a re-creation of Catwho from XI. Down to the same darn hairstyle. Coloration is slightly different, though. XI's Catwho Tarutaru is in a soft nut brown color scheme with brown hair and brown eyes, while XIV's Cat Who Lalafell is a desert gal with mismatched glowly blue green eyes and brown hair with exotic blue highlights. Very pretty, but very eerie looking too. She stares into your soul!

Ornlona Westowyn (or however that last name was spelled, need to find that thread again) will be completely unrelated to any of my XI characters, since she's a Roegadyn. (My Galka boy in XI is named Hundredbynebill.)

I`m always human in all type of games i can choose it, and always regret, I`ll bet I will do the same in FFXIV. I want to be somewhere near DRK in ffxi or WAR as i started as. Just now i won`t die after a level 1 worm because i didn`t know you start with a main wep unequipped:P
