'Arry Potter?

OT: I saw the live stream this afternoon and that branch seems rather interesting. Never did get into SMN in XI, only got Carby I think...so long ago, but this time around I'm planning to play differently...until they release SAM and then I'll relapse.

Interesting - that summoner pet looked far too small for Ifrit. Had to be a fire spirit. Hell of a blast from a no-name spirit though!

And they're ALL packing books. Given the official site has a clear ordered link between classes & jobs (classes go GLD - PUG - MAR - LNC - ARC - CNJ - THM, jobs go PLD - MNK - WAR - DRG - BRD - WHM - BLM), all 3 of ARC, SMN & SCH have been dropped together "officially." Seems strong evidence that 2 jobs per class is the heading of the future ...

Summoners will not summon the whole avatar, only a part of it, its essence and they are called Egi. It was actually the Ifrit Egi we saw the summoner use in the video. I am sure some people will be dissapointed, but from what we know to be able to summon the real big avatars you first have to fight and then defeat them in a specific battle. When you have done that your Free Company will have the ability to summon that avatar one time (I don't know if an actual summoner has to be present) as sort of an ultimate ability before it is again released back into the world and has to be defeated again to be used.

Interesting mechanic. Do you know if it would be possible to stack avatars, & use them all in a single fight - or if you are limited to 1 "prime" avater per fight?

I remember cheesing Seymour Omnis that way in FFX. Summon all Aeons in Overdrive & use them. WIth Bahamut doing 25K at that point, it only left him with 5K health - much simpler than the full 70K fight, which was a real challenge :)

As far as I know we don't have any info on if that is possible, but I would not be surprised if it is only one primal per fight, or if a Free Company can't actually have more than one primal "captured" at a time (although this is just pure speculation). I can't wait to get some more info on this myself because I think it is a really cool feature.

Haha well played, gotta use the skills at your disposal. It is actually funny, I played that game for so many hours, but the only avatar I really remember is Yojimbo... I have a feeling I used his Zanmato a lot ;D
