I don't get it... it means that we have to download 5.8Gb and are able to play for 2 days? Sounds more like an itunes rental.
I understand that the game is free, but I thought that the roadmap http://gdl.square-enix.com/ffxiv/download/en/FFXIV_2.0_BETA_Roadmap_EN.pdf
specified 1-3 weeks.
This is a bit weird for the least- how long did beta 2 last? I skipped it...

Phase 3 wont be just this weekend. There will be more. Part 1 from phase 3 will be only weekend later will be always on.
Plus they aren't letting you play it for fun (well not only anyway) but to help them with feedback.

Yes, do remember we are beta testers, and are here to test the game, and report what we see... While having fun...
We are here to make this game have the smoothest August release possible... The better we work now, the faster updates, and new jobs and such can be worked on, instead of back tracking fixing old bugs. LOL

With the problems that have occurred with simply logging into the beta, I'm happy that they'll spend a whole week debugging after this weekend.
