PS3 codes not working in Canada :: Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV, FF14)

Suggestion found in the technical support beta forum (by EarthwormLemon). I can't try it because I'm not at home, but maybe it's worth a try.

a) Register for a US PSN Account
b) Download the beta client using your provided code on this new account
c) SWITCH over to your regular Canadian PSN account
d) Launch the beta client, and link your Square Enix account to your PSN account

I also live in Canada. Got home and the registration code did not work on my CAN PSN account. Created a US one, redeemed the code, then switched back to my CAN account and am now downloading the beta launcher. Seems to be a valid workaround.

Yep, I'm downloading now. Just don't forget to switch back to your real PSN account before linking it to your SquareEnix account.

Im on ps3 and in Canada,
Not sure I understand what you mean by create a U.S. account on my PS3 do you mean create a new PSN account and just say I'm from the states?

Yup just create a new user..go through all the steps. You have to use a valid US address...I just went on ggogle streetview to some random place. After you put in the code you will get to download a patcher. After that is downloaded is when you want to switch back to your main PSN user then start the patcher.

Just a real zip code of whatever state you choose. Street address can be anything. Have fun with it lol

I just did the same thing. Someone gave me a EU PS3 beta code, and I had to make a new EU psn account and SE account to link it to. Downloading now on my main account though :) (Credit goes to Akumane for the Beta code. Thanks buddy ^^)

Btw Shinda, whats your character name and server?
