Hi all Zam friends.

I haven't been checking this site after I stopped play ff14 the day they started charge a fee. I have multiple lv50 jobs, most are crafter jobs and mining and logging jobs. 50M gil before I quit. The e3 game trailer grabbed my attention and i'd like to give a try again.

NOW here are my questions, please give me some clues.

I don't want to buy the game again, i know i can download for free. but what are those reward items? I have a few items when play 1.0 like asuran gloves, shoes and chcocobo helmet, they pretty much useless. I see they have something called summonable creature and mount creature? are they useful?

My PC was bought to play ff14 1.0 but it almost 3 years old. If I get ps3 version, can I play the game both ps3 and pc?

How to keep my old character? Do I need to apply?

Thanks again for these simple question.

Check your mail in case you already have a beta invite since all 1.0 account holders can have access to phase 3 if not sign up for the beta.

As for the ps3 version. You need to purchase it as well and if i am not mistaken its different from your pc account. I want to believe that if you were able to play 1.0 good you will be more than likely be able to play 2.0 as well.

There will be a character transfer from SE but i do not believe you need to do anything. Unless you want to play in the beta then as i said before you might need to apply.

thank you for quick reply. So you can't play PC and PS3 same time with same character? Then I will have to stay with my PC as I don't want to spend a year to build up my char. Might just upgrade my PC.

I received a email from SE for beta 3 but I have no interested to play beta.

Fair enough then you wait! ;)

You should go in phase 4 though that is open beta and its free. Any progress made in there will be moved to the actual release.

The special items they are giving out are largely vanity items. They wont have any meaningful impact on the game (except for the mount).

There are summonable pets, which don't do anything except follow you around and, of course, look cool / cute. The mounts are useful as, obviously, you get to ride them at a certain level. They appear to be able to fight alongside you as well. You can summon your mount at your pleasure once to reach the right level. There is a quest in the game everyone can do to obtain a chobo mount. It isn't known if the preorder mount is functionally any different than the standard chobo one.

You can check you PC's ability to run the game buy using their benchmark :

Yes, if you purchase a PS3 version you can play on PS3 and on PC. You can only play one character at a time. I'm pretty sure if you account has multiple characters, you can play one instance of any character on both the PC and PS3. You cannot play on PS3 without buying the PS3 version.

You don't need to do anything special with your character, it should automatically be linked to the new game.

Your PC and one PS3 account can be linked so it's possible to have both under one SE account. The limitation is that multiple PS3 accounts can't be linked, but that doesn't apply to your situation.

You use the same account, you just need to have bought and applied a PC code and a PS3 code to your account.

This is the most information I can find that's official:
http://support.jp.square-enix.com/faqarticle.php?kid=67225&id=5382&la=1

This has to do with multi-boxing, which I'm assuming you don't want to do, but the warning in the description has your answer:
Quote:
*Please create separate service accounts for the Windows version and the PlayStation 3 version of FINAL FANTASY XIV. You will not be able to play at the same time if you register the codes under the same service account.

So, it will be possible to have a service account that's tied to both the windows version and the ps3. You won't be able to play both at the same time, but you'll only need one subscription.

It should be automatic. Once phase four comes out all you should have to do is use your log in information and your good to go!
