Low Rider
June 25, 2013

Hey all!
Fernehalwes here!

I popped into the development servers this morning and witnessed something utterly mind-shattering...
Screenshot

Odin? I mean, that looks like his horse, Sleipnir but...something's...OMG! LALA ODIN CONFIRMED!
Screenshot

Could it just be Project Manager M playing with dev tools?

WE MAY NEVER KNOW!

(Okay, we do know. It was just Project Manager M playing with the dev tools)

AAAAAANYWAY...

In other news, Yoshi-P made an exciting announcement at the IR conference held immediately after today's annual Square Enix stock holders' meeting. Supposedly, the FINAL FANTASY XIV beta test registration numbers have hit...920!

I mean...

920 THOUSAND!

(In my coolest Hollywood voice with explosions going off in the background--) "We're gonna need more servers."

Next up, one......BILLION!

Okay, maybe 1 million first. Sign up here if you already haven't!

Petting zoos would much more interesting if all the ponies looked like that.

I wish I hadn't looked at the closeup. I have this deep, instinctive fear of aldgoats after the 1.0 beta. Smiley: frown

For me it's Carneys. Circus folk. Smell like cabbage, cut your throat for a nickel.

No it wouldn't.

I disagree. It would be.

Equally awesome: If whenever you rode it, it played Low Rider for anyone nearby.

It's a shame the Lala Odin doesn't have a giant spear to carry around. Now that would be really scary.

What is the problem with seeing Sleipnir as a mount? You already have summoners using other avatars. They just call them eggi. So give us an eggi Sleipnir mount. It's just further incentive to complete raids and stuff. From what I gather the mounts run at the same speed as characters anyways. And there has been no announcement of mount races.

What harm is there in this if it happens?

I agree too. As long as you can't sell it, this would be awesome. One thing too is, how rare would it be? Then it would be, is it rare like camping a HNM to get a pop item or egg to incubate for a prize (sweet treasure idea, different conditions yield different prizes) or is it rare like Rabbit Charm... Damn JEJ 0/207. Fun factor.

Just a point of contention, but Sleipnir has eight legs.

Hahahahaha! That song plays every time I'm in the car with my girlfriend and I wlays feel the need to poke fun at her about it. She's half Hispanic and.. um... BADONKADONK!... but anyhoo... I would buy 15 CEs if that was the case solely to torment her with it.

Agreed. Things like this should be extremely rare. I remember seeing hundreds of people riding around on Arthas' horse, or using Grom's axe. It's just corny. You rip the importance out of items like that when you make them so easy to get.

I agree with this completely. Everyone riding around on this mount would take away from what Odin is in my eyes.

Eh just make it Odin's armor but rainbow colored and it blasted Nyan Cat everywhere you go when you're on it. That will take away some of the mystique.

Now now Wint, that's not right...

... The armor should be made of pop-tarts, and it should shoot a rainbow out it's *** as it runs about.
