A friend and I were raving about xiv this weekend and we started to discuss ff7 being re-released on steam. i had the idea of this:
remake ff7 entirely using the new ffxiv graphics engine. Dont change anything! only add a couple bonus missions maybe, maybe lengthen aeris's story a little bit, add another summoner or two and another ultimate weapon. i think this would make a retarded amount of money, where retarded = absurd.
And add Lighting as a character! (itroll itroll)

Just out of curiosity, why would you use the XIV engine? It could look a whole lot better than that to be honest.

I like how this thread got sub defaulted. The op said an idea without using bad language, attacking someone, troll or whatever else and yet it seems his post was soooooo bad that got sub-defaulted.

Hey McNasty. I remember you from years ago! Funny, I was just going through some of my old posts when the 1.0 beta was release. Crazy nostalgia trip there. The funny thing was everyone shooting down legitimate grips with the defense 'It's just a BETA!'. Hindsight is definitely 20/20, just too bad most of those didn't have the foresight to see where 1.0 would end up. As for ARR, it's leaps and bounds above that... thing... they released before. (Off-topic, I know. Just wanted to shout out, because it's good to see some old posters still around)

It was probably because it was already remade and because the XIV engine isn't worthy.

Not much has changed, but yeah I'm still around. Hoping the game will actually make it this time around.

agreed. id use xiv engine because I think it would be the cheapest/fastest method without sacrificing quality. It would be done in 2-3 months maybe? I honestly don't know anything about game production so let me stop there.
