Turning off battle data onscreen.Follow

I searched online, and asked around. I just can't find out how. I'm sure it's right in front of me.

I want to turn off all of the floating "Battle Damage", effects, and everything on screen. Where is the settings for this?
Not like, the animations, but when you do a WS, the damage it did floats up, damage you take, the onscreen numbers. I want them gone.

Thanks.

Try the gear underneath the chat log, that should have it I think.

I've looked through everything there.. I can't see it.

I could very well be blind.

Edit: I found the thing to take off the actual visual affects of ws's and such under "System Config" but still nothing for the floating damage number.

I want to turn it off for everyone but myself.. and maybe my party members. I'm really REALLY not interested in how often the pugilist 50 yards away enters coeurl stance

That is incredibly dumb. I hope that gets changed.

Yes, I would like to have basically everything turned off for everyone else, DMG/numbers included. Raids are going to be crazy busy.

I would much rather actually see what's going on against the mob, on screen rather than having to rely on the battle/chat logs and battle/chat filters.

That's what I was thinking about FFXI...as a NIN tank, I was looking more at the chat log than the actual battle itself. In ARR with avoiding abilities and spells and trying to tank the eyes need to be on the action.

At the very least I'd like for my DMG numbers to be different or bigger, that might help as well...

Haha, I know right? I love watching my crits pop up but I could care less what the other guys are doing. Until we get a parser like recount or skada running anyway. Seeing everyone's overall contribution helps a lot, but seeing 80!, 20, 43, 20, 43, 85!, will never add up to anything in my puny brain.

Even a parser doesn't need all that garbage flying around on the screen. It just reads the combat log Smiley: tongue

I had to turn off everybody else's battle effects. It was making my eyes go cross. There was just way too much flashy stuff going on for me to be able to really see what was going on. I don't mind the pretty lights every now and then, but that stuff was constantly attacking my senses!

Right, I'm saying I'll care what others are doing when I can see it in a well designed box, not all over my screen. Smiley: tongue
