Seems like just yesterday I was bummed that I wouldn't be able to play in the beta until summer. This time flew by quickly.

Is this something extra I have to do, or is being in the last beta meaning I am in P4?

I don't remember a game where I didn't have to... It may be open beta but that doesn't mean they don't want your information which is what applying for it is for.

They will close it Monday, then they will open it up again when P4 starts. So he can either do it this weekend or wait till P4 starts. So easy to do though he should do it today.

Thanks for posting this... it's good to know I'm all set for P4 since I was in P3.

I was kind of wondering how that would work.

Thank you for your reply!

On the other hand, I am planning to switch to PC. I started playing in PS3. Anyone know if I can play phase 4 in the PC using my previous registration for PS3? also, once the game is released, is it possible to switch between PC and PS3? I'll be traveling a lot and I would like to take my laptop to play FFXIV, so I would be switching constantly,

If thats how it's always been, then you obviously haven't beta tested MMOs before.

Server side character data means you need to have an actual account, which in turn means at least registering.

Any MMO I've ever beta tested has required either an application or a pre order code of some sort even for open beta. What makes open beta "open" is that they are not selective in who they accept, but you still have to apply or jump through some sort of hoop.

(He/She)'s tested the fora. Someone has to ensure that it can handle a massive amount of troll posts.

Like Final Fantasy XI, the game specs will be extremely high for the time, but in about 5 years, an average machine can run it on max settings with little to no issues. Tanaka also expressed interest in making a benchmark program available.

I'm from 1.0 and never even got my code. And i also applied for beta (several times( just for the heck of it incase i didnt get in automatically... I never got a code for being a legacy player or a beta tester, so whoever said they let everyone in is severely mistaken... It's almost like SE doesnt want you to play their games anymore...

You're supposed to get in touch with them if you didn't get your code by Phase 3. Some 1.0 people also had the code go to really old email addresses that they didn't check any more, I think.

with all the options they have given for getting codes, including third party options (contests and giveaways on other websites) I find it hard to believe that you haven't gotten a code if you really wanted one. I accidentally got 2, (one from SE, and one from a third party giveaway).

To be fair, some of those giveaways ran out VERY quickly. I think the Zam one lasted...what, 1 hour maybe?

Yeah we blew through 1000 codes in about 40 minutes.

If the game has no registration/application process, it has no way for you to save any progress on your account because it has no way to attribute it to a unique person. But hey, let's humor your claims.

*Googles 9 Dragons*

Oh look, you need to register with this company called GamesCampus to even log in. They even show you an image of the login screen in one of their FAQ about having to reverify your account..

Which asks you for a User ID, forum nickname, password, and email.

*Googles Last Chaos*

*Clicks Download*

Oh look, you can either sign in with Facebook (which has its own email built in), put in your birthdate (!) and email address, or sign in with an "Aeria" account. And how do you get an Aeria account? By putting in your email and birthdate.

OK, I'm not even going to waste my time checking the others then.

The fact is this game requires an SE account to play, which means registration.
