Any new news for P4? Like date? How long it will last? When does the early access start? Oh, and I can't find the pre-order of the Collector's edition for PS3, any ideas?

There is no new information in regards to Phase 4 except that a Live letter will be held on August 8 and the start date will be announced at that time.

Early access will start on August 20th.

If you want to order the Collectors edition for the PS3 your options are limited.

The only retailer that I know that still has them in stock is Toys R Us. However you don't get the pre-order bonuses. If you want the collectors edition and want the pre-order bonuses you have two options.

1. Order the standard edition and used the digital upgrade service for PS3 when and if it comes out ($20). We know it will come out, we just are not 100% it is for PS3 as well. However since it is off of your service account it should not matter if you play on PS3 or PC.

2. Order the PS3 Standard edition ($39.00) and order the PC download Collectors Edition ($49.00). It will cost $90 instead of $80 (physical PS43 Collectors Edition) and will come with all the in game items and early access but will not come with any of the physical items you get from a box set.

There's been no official announcement for the start of Phase 4. But they've mentioned July 30 as a deadline to register for Phase 4, and that registration for Phase 4 will reopen when Phase 4 starts. So that's pretty clear indication Phase 4 won't start until July 31st. Some of the conjecture is for Phase 4 to start around August 8, which seems like a reasonable guess right now.

Early access is mentioned as being one week long on the FFXIV web site. It wouldn't make sense to have a gap between the one week of early access and August 27 when the game launches. So you can basically count on early access being August 20 to 27.

Collector's Editions have sold out with most retailers, which is probably why you can't find the pre-order option for it.

It was translated from the second Nico Nico event in an interview with Yoshi. I don't have the actual link of the translation unfortunately.

I believe SE has said the open beta would last for a week or so. If the August 8th announcement is real there are two highly likely phase 4 dates:

1.) The do their usual Friday 2AM PST start on the 9th and run for a week, with 3 days to prepare for the Aug 20th early release.

2.) They open phase 4 on August 13th (or 14th?? XIV?) and run for approximately a week right up to the 8/20 early access date.

It depends on whether they are planning to review/patch or just rest between phase 4 and early access. Either way... it's going to be a loooong wait now that I've put in enough time on phase 3 to know I'll enjoy the game.

I would just like to point out for clarity that Option #1 will not include any physical items either, as stated in Option #2.

It will start sometime after 8/8. It will only last a week. Early access is slated to last one week, thus putting early access on the 19th or 20th (depending on how you count a week). They likely need at least 3 days to patch up from beta to live, so Im guessing August 10th through August 17th will be the trial period otherwise known as phase four.
