This happened: http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg92/WFOAssassin/FFXIVV1_zpsf3ff795f.jpg

Notice the date of 2013.07.14, something was added, I wonder what and why. We were supposed to get rid of the browsers... what was the points?

And then this: http://i246.photobucket.com/albums/gg92/WFOAssassin/FFXIV10DLafter_zpsfc0a26ce.jpg

In the upper left you can see "ver2.0.0.106" Was that always a v2.0 or was it v1.0.x.xxx? What does that mean? Anyone? Just figured you all might have a better idea of why that did anything.

I guess there's a patch available for download... this is a good sign!

Phase 4 is not too far off (hopefully)!

thats odd cuz thats the old log in right? Maybe the server info and such is the same so while updateing ARR that one got its stuff changed too?

My guess is they still use the old client for some testing while getting the phase 4 client ready. They did say to uninstall the old client after Phase 3.

Basically, the old client still gets updated from time to time as ARR pulls in a lot of stuff from 1.0, there aren't any new patches from ARR's client, not even added to the root folder but lacking permissions to download like you'd normally encounter before a test phase is actually "around the corner."

Well considering that we are suppose to be able to use our old FFXIV 1.0 copy to download 2.0, I believe this is preparing it for open beta, since it's suppose to have everything available. See if the play button comes up by Open Beta or early access =)

I'm not deleting anything yet on my PS3, unless I see an official announcement from SquareEnix saying specifically to delete it, just in case P4 is updated from the P3 client.

Then again I'm downloading it on two PS3's, so I don't want to waste time personally.

I never deleted anything. I still have the Alpha Client loaded. Its a "See what I did" thing. If it won't directly interfere with me playing and DL the new stuff, I will leave it for sentimental value.

Greetings,

The character appearance saved data and the "save data" in the PS3 XrossMediaBar (under the "Saved Data Utility (PS3â„¢)") are two separate things.

The "save data" that can be deleted refers to your character information on the PS3; this can be removed after phase 3. We recommend that you leave your "System Data" file alone, as it contains any character appearance data that you saved.

I also edited the text to better state that it's the "character saved data" that can be removed and that it should refer to 'after phase 3' and not 'after phase 4'. And to be clear, this is only for the file that's on your PS3 hard drive, as your actual character data is stored on the servers. So deleting this does not have any negative effects.

Hopefully that clears it up and thanks very much for pointing it out!

Are we suppose to uninstall the client we used to test P3? Is that the whole game, or something different?

Ok, that's quite clear, and interesting.
