Getting this out to all communities.

First, I give the greatest thanks to Serashae, of Focused, for putting this guide together and everyone of the Final Fantasy community who lent their knowledge across the net for us to compile this guide. Much respect and thank you. Keep it going.

We will keep expanding on the guide but as of now we have up until lv. 35. I hope this guide will help majority of the community to get a nice kick start with as little time wasted as possible. But enough with chatter; click the link and happy leveling. Feedback is more than welcome.

I find this very helpful and informative.
I have yet to play any of the betas so reading this makes me very excited for what is to come when I'm able to play. The games sounds absolutely wonderful and I can't wait. Been a lot of years since I was immersed in the FF universe. I've been playing around so much with the character creator. Simply can't decide whether I want to be Hyur or Lalafell. I regretted for years not staring out with a taru in FFXI, I hope I don't make the same mistake this time.
The information about starting out and dungeons is awesome. I've generally always hated dungeons because of trying to find groups, but the duty finder sounds simply amazing. If FFXI had duty finder years ago, I wonder how many DD's would have kept playing the game instead of simply giving up because of the wait times on parties for jobs like dragoon/thief/monk. Lol drg

Honestly Shona. Go with your gut. I want to be a Male Miqo'te so badly but my heart lays with Elezen. I am more than likely going to make an Elezen come launch that's just simply because it feels right.

As for the job finder.. It's amazing.. Square Enix has so many things done right on so many levels to start with. I just hope they continue to build upon it. I played XI for 5 years and XIV feels like home.

Nice link. That's a good guide for some simple beginner's tips as well as links for the early dungeon walkthroughs.

People that have not played FFXIV at all could read that guide to get a feel for how the game progresses. It's a fairly unbiased accounting of the beta gameplay up to 35.

the guide is very informative and very well written, and i remember how much guides like this one helped me lvl playing FFXI so thanks to Serashae and everyone else who would take the time to write guides and help others .... however there is something i need to say here:

from my humble experience with phase 3 beta i have come to the conclusion that this game hardly needs a guide to lvl !!!

if you go through whatever guides available they will all almost tell you the same thing: do your quests, guildleves, guildhests, FATEs, dungeons, main story quests and you will get the xp / gil / equipment you want .... or in other words PLAY THE GAME !

it seems like this game has been designed to be a balanced game (unlike some of the early MMORPGs from last decade) there are hardly any shortcuts or secret tips to gaining xp faster .. i dont know i might be wrong

yah and whats with people concerned with lvling up as fast as possible ? its not a race with other players ! we will all get to lvl 50 eventually ..

FFXIV is not about the destination .. its about the journey

I really agree with the many ways you can level or go about your leveling. That's why i feel FFXIV is going to be the next true MMO that will hold weight for years to come. BUT! As you have multiple classes, the guide helps detail what can be done to maximize making EXP available for your next up coming classes as you level your first. So while you do not need to follow the guide exactly. It does lay out what to expect and the options you have to choose from, to maximize gain without throwing yourself into a full blown grind ditch later.

Oh I quite agree with you there in terms of the game actually leading you through levelling. It is very simple during these levels. However as one of the other poster said, there are ways to make levelling alt characters easier by doing a few things during your original levelling.

And everyone's levelling curve is different based on play style as well and that can be hard to cater for in a document like this.

I have a feeling though that in later levels, the levelling curve may increase in difficulty, so I wanted to get this document ready so that when/if that happens, I'll be able concentrate on that.

thanks for the feedback though, every bit of feedback I receive helps make my writing better :)

You did well! I read it and not having played the beta, I think it gave me a little better direction. Probably saved me several hours of running in a circle, and for that I am grateful Smiley: smile

I was a main BLU as well. Sitting around with your party flag on for hours was kind of a bummer. I never let that bother me much, though. I found a good LS and they brought me along for everything they did.

I hope and pray that SE has plans on implementing the Blue Mage class in FFXIV eventually. I already miss it.

I also leveled blu to 75 and really hope to see it again in ff14. Even though it was a pain in the *** to get all the spells, it was still my favorite job. On top of that it got the best looking AF.

I have completed the lvling guide for FFXIV - A Realm Reborn.

If after reading you find errors or wish to provide feedback please do so as I sort of rushed through this so I could get it published.

Thanks everyone for your support
