The Moogle Delivery Service is a convenient way to send messages, items, and gil to anyone on your Friend List. When you receive a message, a notification icon will display at the top of the screen. To view the message, simply speak with a delivery moogle at any city or outpost.

This is for those who aren't standing close enough to a player to /trade with them on the spot. Please note they have to be on your 'Friend List' in order to send messages, items or gil.

Linkshells are chat groups which allow for quick and easy communication between players regardless of their location. To create your own linkshell, simply speak with a linkshell distributor in any of the three cities. You can invite up to 128 other players to join your personal chat channel.

I wonder if it would be possible to friend an alt and transfer items that way. Not that I'm really planning on alts. I like to try all the classes, but since I can do that all on one character I would only really make an alt as a mule.

Both players have to be online to add to friends list, so unfortunately it's not possible.
