I noticed something strange and wonderful last night while playing my GLD on the PS3. I initially set my L2 and R2 to the mixed setting so that I could toggle my Xhotbar on and off as well as hold the shoulder buttons down to activate them and one time while they were activated I bumped L1 accidentally when attempting to toggle it off using L2 in order to use the GP to change targets... it swapped my targeting to the next closest enemy. I don't know who thought this up but this was a geinus idea and it has made FATEs (and I'm assuming dungeons though I haven't run one this phase since I only got to lvl 10) so much easier. I don't know if this workes while healing but I imagine it would as long as you have your targeting filters in place. Once I swap over to CON I will confirm if no one else beats me to it.

Edit: Is it just me or do the colors seem to pop a bit more on the PS3 and the graphics seem to be a little crisper? Might just be me.

I know that I have mine set up so LB1 and X, A or B changes my targeting filter to Enemies, All and Party. Is this what you mean? Or did it actually move you the next target? I would try it but I'm on a plane paying 8 bucks for wi fi access Smiley: mad

When you toggle the Hot XBar on by tapping L2 (or R2 depending on which one you want) you can then hit just L1 or R1 (and nothing else) and it will move your targeting to the next target.

That sounds cool. Now I'm highly irritated I can't try it out.

Yeah, it is. I was getting tired of toggleing it on then, after I had killed the mob I was fighting, trying to target something else and wondering where my targeting mark was because I forgot to toggle the hot Xbar off. Once I found this little feature it made things a lot easier. Between this, the targeting filters and the Hot Xbar toggle options, combat has got a lot easier using the PS3 controler.

How did it work for you? I noticed that for me as a tank, my targeting never jumped to a friendly, same for you?

I notice this as well princess. In P3 I never mapped a skill to my Left Directional Button and would cycle thru enemies this way. I was a bit frustrated that they removed that option in P4, and after messing around with the UI and keybinds I stumbled on the R1 & L1 toggle. I had assumed you would have to hold down R1 or L1 and hold one of the face buttons. It worked perfectly for me and I was able to flow from mob to mob easily. Oddly enough I never encountered any problems targeting in fates with or without Carbuncle present. The only times I encountered troubles with him was in town while trying to target NPC's
