A confused 1.0 player looking for adviceFollow

Hi all,

I'm kinda confused about the early access for ARR. I purchased the game back when 1.0 was active and played for around a month. I also set up a subscription to the game for that length of time.

In 2.0 I have a legacy character (which is my character from 1.0) and that's on a legacy server now in 2.0. My question is, will I get early access at all or do I need to pre order a key and apply it to my account I'm using now? Will SE allow me to register another key on the same account I'm currently using? I'm not sure if I get early access or not. I did play in the other phases of ARR.

Can anyone please confirm?

Thank you

You do not have early access if you only paid for one month. Early access is only 4 days so I wouldn't worry about it.

You cannot add another copy of the Windows client to your account, but you can add a PS3 version, which will add 30 days of game-time. That's in addition to the 14 you'll get for free anyways for being a 1.0 player.

Thanks,

That's a real shame. I don't own a PS3 console anyway.

Edit: How can I tell if I'm granted early access anyway?

Thanks :)

If you have legacy account status from 1.0, I believe you do get early access. To qualify for a legacy account, you must have been subscribed to the game for 3 or more months in 1.0 after it went pay to play, and applied for the status.

If you don't meet the above criteria, then you don't get early access to the game. You will need to pre-order to get a early access code and then apply it to your account. The key you used when you registered your 1.0 version and the early access code are not related at all, so you should have no trouble.

This flow chart is nifty for deciding on what version to buy:

Did you preorder the game for an early access code? If not, then you appear to be mistaken.

Thanks,

Like I said I only subbed for one month I think so I'm not sure if I get early access or not. Is there anyway to check through my SE account?

All those questions are answered in a sticky on the official forum, which is unfortunately down at the moment. Going by memory because I didn't qualify for legacy status either, I think they sent an e-mail to tell you. But if you didn't pay for 3 months, you don't have the legacy status.

Hmmm, I'm not sure to be honest. I'm not a legacy member ; ;

You get a big fat LEGACY emblem on your character selection page if you qualified for a legacy account.

Unless you pre-ordered ARR or paid for 3 months during 1.0, you do not have early access. You might be mistaking Open beta going on right now for Early Access.

I've been reading the information here and it looks like I don't.

So, can I purchase a key and add it to my existing account?

Yes, you can pre-order a PS3 copy. That will give you access to early play, and you can redeem the 30 days that come with it. If you pre-order a windows version it's the same thing except you can't redeem the 30 days because you can't register 2 Windows copies on the same service account.

Ya i wondering about this too, from what i understand if u pre order a ps3 copy u can add it to your account. That way u can continue your progression from open beta and get early access. But im not positive on this. So if i added a ps3 key to my account that im currently playing with and have a lvl 20 toon i should be able to continue with that toon into early access with my non legacy 1.0 account.

So I take it PS3 and PC versions are the same? Like if I play a character on the PC, I can then go and play that character on the PS3 version?

Correct. You just can't log in at the same time.

Nope didn't pay a cent into 1.0 and didn't do the pre-order either. I have a legacy character and have been playing in the early access this weekend. Up till this morning where I got hit with the 3102 error.

I did purchase the 1.0 CE though.

I'm pretty sure those emblems / tattoos are given to anyone who was in beta. So, they are different than having a legacy account.

edit: tats are given to anyone who was in 1.0 regardless of account standing

The tattoo is for every 1.0 characters.

And Bludot, maybe they messed up with your account and gave you early access for some reason or other, I don't want to call you a liar. But please don't spread misinformation. For everyone else, it requires having paid for 3 months.

I think it might be because I played in Phase 3.
But other wise nothing I've typed here is false.
And yup I mistook this for early access my bad.

Now I'm confused.
So I have the 1.0 CE, I didn't pay the 3 months. But I do have a character that has the big LEGACY title beside it. Does this mean I don't get early access?

Well according to Pulazka's flow chart I should get early access because I had purchased the 1.0 CE

But where my confusion now lies is in the point that someone has mentioned you needed to have paid for 3 months of game time.

I played in the other phases and have never been given an icon or logo.

Wasn't the characters wiped from the other phases anyway?

Edit: Ah is that the logo from playing in 1.0? If so, my mistake.

Yes my phase 3 character was removed. But my original 1.0 character from 2010 is still on my account with the LEGACY thing tagged to it.

So if I'd like to play in early access I have these options:

1: Purchase the Playstation 3 pre order and apply that to my account. Will this allow me to play my existing open beta character (currently level 16) once the early access begins on the PC? I don't own a PS3 console.

2: Register a new SE account and purchase a Windows pre order and play that. I will of course have no 1.0 connections and will need to start a new character.

3: Wait until the official launch and play on the account I have now and the character from the open beta.
