The reason there's not enough tanks.Follow

Gladiator. It's so boring. Does anyone else agree?

I just finished getting Gladiator to 22 to get Provoke and the class is sleep inducing.

I thought the reason there wasn't enough tanks was because everyone is trying Arcanist (partially true)... but now I'm thinking nobody wants to be one because it's no fun.

Marauder is much more enjoyable but Gladiator makes me want to claw my eyes out. How can they make this class more fun?

Finally a non-troll post! Good job. I knew you could do it. Have a cookie.

I played a GLA in beta 3 (I think it was) to try something different. I agree, I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the other jobs I've tried. I had difficulty getting the hang of hate management, and I just really wanted to be blowing things up like I did on CNJ and THM, or pelting it with arrows like I did with ARC.

Maybe you can ask Yoshi about it next time you see him at the supermarket

A rule every man should follow.

I think they need to change more of its skills to job abilities so you're doing more. I'm not sure. Maybe give it another utility weapon skill or another buff.

I'll have to think about it, but I just feel like I'm doing so little as a Gladiator. It's so repetitive and the animations themselves aren't very cool to look at, either.

I did plenty on GLA in Phase 3. It was the only job I didn't start dozing off while dungeon spamming. Maybe It's because I constantly cycle through targets with single target threat moves and constantly spam CDs. That is much more invovled than say, PUG, where I was hitting 1 2 3 4 2 3 4 2 3 4 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 over and over again.

I loved GLD in phase 3; it was the first class I played when I came back and it was a lot more fun than I expected.

I'm not going GLD for release because I'd just rather not tank.

PUG is a bit more involving, especially if you pay attention to positional requirements and keep all of your debuffs up.

I think 1. All classes are a bit on the easy side initially, 2. Some classes like PUG are deceptively easy, until you try to maximize your output.

You can be a GLD that just runs in and uses flash once, or you can be the GLD that labels each mob, uses shield lob, and communicates to the group to mitigate hate.

I think SE has done a decent job at trying to NOT alienate newbies and let the hardcore players try to master a system of classes, that at first glance seem easier than they actually are.
