There's obviously quite a bit of yelling going on over the servers, and I would yell too if I knew exactly what I was yelling about. I'm not the most tech savvy guy around, but I know a lot of folks on here are very knowledgable about these things. So while I can't imagine fixing the problem is as simple as troubleshooting your grandma's router, I be grateful if anyone could explain the way the servers work and what they think is going wrong with them.

Players request information from servers and vice versa. The amount of requests from players is more than the servers can handle. It would seem they underestimated the demand that would be put on these servers.

Thanks. That makes some sense.

So would you say this player flood gating they're doing is a way of testing the server capacity? A kind of server stress test? I know they're stress testing me Smiley: lol

They have quadrupled the number of servers that 1.0 had and it's still not enough. Too many people are trying to connect at once and there is not enough space to handle them all. This is the problem in a nutshell.

Ah. Thanks.

So is the answer more servers or bigger servers or some combination of the two. Or is that not an option financially?

What you really have to wonder is are there really quadruple the servers. It is hard to believe there are. Secondly I think its safe to assume it is well beyond the number of servers.
