Does anyone have data on how hard SE servers are actually getting hit? I was trying to guesstimate using what limited information is available.

Just assuming for a minute that Yoshi's team achieved a maximum of 5,000 concurrent users per server that is 250,000 concurrent users across 50 worlds.

Lets assume that they aren't getting anywere close and it is more like 2,500 concurrent users per server. That is still 125,000 users all at once.

We know that phase 4 saw ~150,000 concurrent users and it was about that point they started experiencing difficulties.

We know 1.0 sold approximately 600,000 copies and with PS3 users that number could have more than doubled to 1.2M. If that is a reasonable estimate nearly 1 in 5 people is not able to log in. I wonder what they were estimating for launch and during peak times.

I think we have established they need more servers and are working towards getting the resources as quickly as they can but depending on how many servers appear next week we might have an idea just how many people were experiencing these issues and what actual population statistics might be.

I'd really like to see some real statistics though. It is purely academic I don't have any other motive other than curiousity.
