Do you run out of quests in your starter city/areas outside it? By that i mean do you ever hit a point where youve done every main/guild/side quests for you level and the only way to level up is to do hunting logs, guillevels/hests/fates or dungeons? If so at what level does that start ha penning?

Also about ppl who whine about no auto logout when afk umm correct em if im wrong but FFI didnt logout idle players either did they? (how did we bazaar in jeuno overnight if there was a idle time limit kick?) and no one complained about that so why would they expect it here?

I'm only lvl 18 THM (starts in Ul'dah). I've noticed that the quests around the two starting zones ran dry around the point I got to 15, which is when the main story line starts taking you to the other cities to do dungeons. Note that I also mixed in hunt logs, about 4 Guildhests, and a few FATEs. I don't know if more quests will start opening up in zones further away from the starting cities in a few levels or not, or if the main story line missions and dungeons on their own will be mostly sufficient to continue leveling.

FFXI had an idle timeout that was turned on by default. But anyone who wanted to bazaar could simply turn it off.

I don't know what level it was but yes it did happen once and only one. Now I'm sick of the story quest. Not because its dull, but because it seems to be never ending and I have out leveled it. I do side quest now just to break the cycle and those are still not needed to level up.

I ran CNJ to 18 and didn't start sasta at all. I chose to start leveling other classes, so I did GLA and PGL and burned through Uld's quests, then the same with MRD and ACN for Limsa. By the time I got back on my CNJ, I only had the main story left and all my Hunting Logs were done. Of course, now I have stuff spread all over the world and no idea wtf to do next.

at level 28, I have yet to run out of anything to do. Especially a tank class. The story line quest keeps going, and placing me in areas I have quests to complete. Plus fate's in the area and hunting log... I am in no short of EXP to be gained.

I find all the quest in the main cities to be just simple run aroun quest, I did all a them not sure if anything will open up later on but for now at lv29 besides the GC quest which has a lvl44 req I have nothing at all in any main city.

But I do have a load a quest outside the cities which i have skipped and passed, just save them for other classes I guess.

I've touched maybe 6-7 side quests total between Arcanist and Conjurer. Conj. was leveled to 16 with only the main story, class story, hunting log, FATEs, and levequests. After that it was two runs per the first three dungeons and now it's sitting at 21 waiting for a couple friends to catch up. The Arcanist was leveled to 15 the same way, with the exception of the main story. Grab the class quest, grab a bunch of leves for the area, check my hunting log, and blow stuff up for an hour; by the time I turn in the class quest I can usually start the next or am pretty close.

After completely forgetting about the story quests in Phase 3, I just save the side quests for little exp. boosts when needed. In Phase 3 I got to 16 and tried to run TTD without the quest or even having my airship pass. I was still on the level 8 story quest.

At 42 I have no quests and the story quest I can't do due to it being 43. Been asking around if there are any lvl 40ish quest hubs I missed but no answer yet :(
