Asking for a refund for the digital CEFollow

#1 Aug 30 2013 at 12:52 AM Rating: Decent
That's about the only thing I can think of doing at this point. I realize I should not have bought it to begin with as I am a 1.0 account holder, and from looking at my account page in mog station, I could have simply upgraded my account to the CE without issue. A few others are in the same situation as it seems from the official forums. The CE items was the purpose, and the early access was a perk. But the game's support team is awfully busy to answer these type of support inquiries so that leaves this as my only solution to gain the benefit of obtaining the CE items I wanted to begin with. Lesson learned, and all that.

A good idea in theory, but something tells me you havent had any prior experience with SE. They have been known in the past to simply ban entire accounts over little "tricks" like that. You probably should just take the 30 loss and think of it as a learning experience :/

They specifically said before you could order them that you would only need the upgrade and not a new version of the game. To be honest - your fault.

I'm sorry, you're telling me to eat the 40 euros I spent because SE may ban me for asking about a refund to their product?

While I do know they can be difficult to deal with from a past issue I had with FFXI, I highly doubt they are in the business of banning account holders because 1.) I failed to understand how purchasing the CE would affect my 1.0 account, and 2.) Their lack of supplying that information to me. It's not like I am trying to fraud them out of anything. I want my CE items that I paid for. I just need to painfully go about it this way.

No crap it's my fault. I didn't say it wasn't my fault. It was a lack of understanding on my part, but a lack of clarity on theirs too. I am not upset with this happening at all. I know I did this the wrong way. I am just going to try and see if they will offer the refund so I can upgrade my account properly, or manually upgrade my account to CE since I did technically pay for it.

If you haven't used your registration code, you may be able to trade it. Not really much different than trading Steam keys or other digital activation codes. So while you may not get a direct refund, you could still get some value out of your key. (monetary or other).

Yeah I guess it would have added value at this point, being digital sales are halted currently. Trying to get a friend interested in it so perhaps I'll be able to give it to her.
