Am I the only one who needs a dictionary for all the crazy words SQ is throwing at me, stoicism? ignominy? Definitely were a few more, and I went through my 2 annoying years of university English --> B.Sc. too!

Amen to SQ for improving the English vocabulary of this generation!

I like to believe that I have a rather sizeable vocabulary, but even I'll admit that some of the words SE uses in the dialogue are new to my eyes. SE has always done things that way though.

I guess they just prefer sophisticated dialogue in their games.

Some of you guys might not remember the English localized versions of the cartridge games, but they used to throw in a lot of 'SAT words' in those games. I've noticed that the translations used in subsequent "editions" were not the same. Personally, I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOOVE the fact that they've gone back to the kind of language they used when I was a kid. It makes me feel warm and fuzzy to the bone. It's one of those little touches to this game that make it my favorite FF in over a decade so far.

Let's just say that, at times, some of SE's vocabulary makes me more lugubrious than salubrious.

What impresses me the most is that these usages are not gratuitous, and at least from what I've seen so far when they do crop up they are very much in keeping with the characters speaking.
