Problem Occured While Updating..Follow

#1 Sep 07 2013 at 7:17 AM Rating: Decent
The thread title says it all.

I went through hell trying to track down a copy of this game over the past two weeks. Finally I managed to get a hold of a copy. Imagine my chagrin when I go to update my client with all the patches they've pushed out already and finding that I'm unable to do so. Basically I get to about 1.4 gigs of the download then it spits out this particular error:

A problem occured while updating
Please restart FFXIV (Beta Version)
[11006][2064][20643]

I've tried everything I can think of. I've turned off all virus protection and firewalls, killed my startup list, ran as administrator, installed all windows updates. Nothing, still refuses to get past this point. I could really use some help here.

Ya where'd ya get your "copy"? Unless your updating the open beta phase 4 client, it won't update.

I got my "copy" legally through GameStop if you're implying I pirated it.

Then why is it a "beta" copy? Were you in one of the beta phases? If so, uninstall it and reinstall using your new copy.

I have no idea what it's labeled beta, it certainly isn't. This is a legit retail, physical disc copy of the game. I wasn't involved in the beta, this is the first time it has been on my system.

so yah... my wife and I both had this issue. First, the beta message is because there isn't an update yet to the launcher, they just missed the text.

Second, see here: http://support.na.square-enix.com/faqarticle.php?id=5382&la=1&kid=67515&ret=main

There's several reasons it could happen, try to figure out what your reason is.

Happy Gaming!

Download it from there and install it, I've done it 4x's from that link and never once gotten an error code.

Thanks, Drulian. It's worth a shot, banging my head over this for two days now and it's getting me no where. I'll try this link. Do you still need to patch after or is this a current build?

EDIT: No good, it gave me the error in exactly the same spot.
