Hey guys! Wanted to post an update of what to expect for the next 2 weeks on the site! XIVDB works on mostly a per week update, where we work on features suggested by you guys, implement, test and push live!

The planned updates:
  • We're working heavily with the ffxivapp guys so that while running that application, data such as mob, mining, botany and fisher information will be placed our on maps automatically. We also aim to get loot lists so we can have automatic drop rates for monsters!
  • Maps will change from Google Apps to Leaflet, which is much more optimized for game type maps rather than earth and is much more controllable and flexible for our needs!
  • Special items such as Relic+1 and Behemoths Helm will appear on NPC shop pages, we want to also list all these special shops in a single search result!
  • The ability to compare items, so you can pick 5 items and compare the stats of them very easily, it will show you the difference 1 item has over the other 4, the item can be switched and the stats will update dynamically. You can also link these to friends :)
  • Compare Wardrobes, similar to item compare but comparing wardrobes, so you and a friend could make your best tank sets and compare them, seeing the specific stat differences
  • Dual tooltips for recipes, this will show the full result item tooltip beside the recipe tooltip so you can easily see what you craft
  • An item set page, this is a dedicated page allowing you to easily see the full stats and equipment of specific sets such as AF+ with Relic, Darklight, and so on
  • Guildleve data will be added
  • Basic quest information will be added such as steps, lore and npc dialogue
  • The ability to filter all materials will be added! This will be any item in a recipe, even if the item itself is a fully usable crafted item but used in another recipe. Additionally we will add the "stars" that show up for lv 55+ and lv 70 recipes.

Some others may crop in there, will have to see ! Hope this gets you excited, lots to do :)

thank you to all for the continued support for XIVDB!

If we run and install the APP is there a way we can choose to contribute anonymous data?

I'll let Icehunter answer that for sure but I'm thinking it's a requirement of using App. I know they're still working on getting the transfer working, we were testing it this weekend.

Ok I stand corrected, the data collection is going to be optional, and turned off by default.
