Simple question. I see all the great progress a lot of you are making and I wonder how many hours you all are putting in.

4-5/7 days per week.
2-6 hours on each of those days. It just varies.

I'd say on average around 15-20 hours per week though.

I would say 3 hours/day on weekdays and 24 hours over the weekend

5 (weekdays) - 7 (weekends) hours a day, every day if I can.

My schedule can change depending on how I feel, but on average it's like this:

  • Home from work: 7:30am/8:00am
  • Browse around here: 8:30am - 9:00am
  • Check NFL/MLB sites: 9-9:30am
  • FFXIV 10:00/11:30am - 3:00pm.
  • Day Off; FFXIV: See above, and then depending on when I wake up; 10pm/11/pm/12/am3/am - 7am(take break), come back; See above.

I'd say about 20 hours a week.

20 hours a week and still only on Stone Vigil... I feel slow... Considering I am going Pld, and have every class (but Acn at 4) to 50... (Ok, a few crafting classes still need work...)

Um...maybe an hour or two a day? Been focusing more on college work than the game. I'm only around level 30 with my main class, I usually log on to do some crafting or chat while I read my textbooks. I've been outclassed by just about everybody in my LS, but I don't really mind.

A bit when I wake if the kids are distracted...

Until the youngest goes down for a nap, some fishing while I do housework, on my bad non-reaching arm, Dualshock works up to 2 rooms away so far to alert me.

A bit when the kids are home from school, and distracted with homework before Dinner.

A bit on the small screen while the wife watches a few shows to decompress on the big screen.

And a few hours of poking around once the family is asleep, until fatigue hits me enough to actually go to sleep.

Lots and Lots and Lots of small bites, taken slow and steady.

3-4 days a week anywhere from 30min to 3hours. I have to wake up at 630 so length of time depends on how long I want to stay up and how little sleep I am willing to get.

Since early access while I'm not asleep or at work and when there isn't maintenance. I've shut social media off completely since early access as well. So much fun, so much pretty, so little time/want to talk to other people about unimportance. That might seem extreme from a casual observance but since closed beta I knew I was going to play this game. Why?
  • Final Fantasy lore
  • Wasn't PS2 graphics (looking at you XI)
  • Wasn't XIV alpha (which is what put me off 1.0 completely before it ever launched)

Would be 50 in something but because of the server issues at launch + ongoing inability to get onto the servers closest to me during primetime, I have a NA char that I play during JPN primetime (ACN 30, only up to Halitali so no GC/chocobo yet) and a JPN char that I play during NA primetime (ARC/BRD 38, up to Brayflox.)

I'm not bitter though because the way I see it: as long as I get to play the game everything's cool. ^_^

You're a much better student than myself. :(

I've been probably prioritizing FFXIV too much. I'll play it maybe 4~5 hours a day if I don't have homework or a test coming up.

Though! I usually sit in duty finder in town while programming or reading lecture notes so I'm not 100% bad.

2-3 hours Mon-Thursday. Friday-Sunday are toss ups.
Sun-Thur I go to bed almost right at 10pm every night due to work. Friday/night & Saturday/night could be very little to all day, Sunday could be all day or none at all. Really depends on what is going on.
MMOs are my time wasters when I have nothing else to do, or don't feel like doing the stuff I should :p

I will say 20-25 hours a week.

Sadly enough, FFXIV could be a full-time job. I did the math and I'll just say it's over 40 hours a week.

1-3 hours after work, Monday - Friday.

Then maybe 5-10 hours during the weekend.

So anywhere from 10-25 hours a week.

So, lets average and say 17.5 hours a week and 2.5 hours a day.

---
I'm level 33 or 34 right now, and the XP curve is starting to ramp up. I'd say it'll be another 2 weeks, at least, until I'm 50.

Lets see, home by 5PM'ish. Gym and dinner then play. Try to get at least 6-7 hours of sleep a day for a work day that starts at 6AM so my play times are between 7PMish to 10ish. Approximately 3 hours a day on weekdays. Lets add 2 hours to the weekend so:

5 * 3 + 5 * 2 = entirely way too much...

This makes me want to make an LS/FC of players who have busy schedules like me where it is not frowned upon to cancel/re-schedule events due to real life haha

Right now I am probably getting around 12-15 hours a week, but would like to up it to 20. I am progressing slowly, but throughly enjoying the game.

I play off and on at work most days... probly 3 hours a day, then another 2 hours most nights. Minimal on weekends, but get on when I can. Probably 25ish hours a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less.

Last 2 days I played 15 Hours with an hour or 2 break in between. I may continue that trend into the weekend. So starting from Wednesday to Sunday is 15 * 5 = 70 hours for 5 days. Yeah I need to slow down. -_- zZZZ

I've played a whopping 7 hours since launch. Between school, vacation and other games I enjoy... I just haven't had the time.

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Just now, too many, but the game is still new and shiny. Once I've settled into it I'll re-discover real life once more.
#26 Sep 13 2013 at 6:53 AM Rating: Good
2-3 hours every other day or so. I'm also rotating between three characters, so the progress of each one is significantly slower than if I had a single "main" character.

I may eventually settle on one. Right now I have too many friends who decided to play on too many different servers.
