Joining a Party in ProgressFollow

#1 Sep 14 2013 at 7:17 AM Rating: Decent
Just curious if anyone else does this on a regular basis when dungeon crawling. Does it only ever send you to a party already in progress? I've done so about 5 times today, and it's always just that. Not to mention you'll run into some interesting stories about why x class you are replacing is no longer there. I like it's an option, rather than a straight up just place you in a party upon first come.

I like the option only thing that sucks is if the instance is missing a Tank and dps and a dps gets sucked in befor a tank. they should make sure the party is full up be for tossing players in.

It usually guarantees you catch a failed run where one guy is afk after everyone else left to avoid the 15min lock out from leaving

I've not experienced this at all using the option. Usually it's a dropped tank or healer from a DC.. but other times its a failed player performance issue. I also can confirm it's not an option to only be placed in an already existing party. I've just been placed in a new party using the option. Not that tanks or healers need another option to enter a fast party, but for DPS it couldn't hurt

It would make sense if DF gave preference to placing you into a party that was already in the dungeon over a group that was in the process of forming. After all, DF can only fill those holes in parties already in dungeons with people who have that option set when searching.

Your experience is probably an indication that there are more parties in dungeons that need to replace a member than there are people willing to join a dungeon run in progress. If there were more people with that option set than there was a need for, then you would start to see cases where you get placed into a group that is preparing to enter the dungeon.
