Security TokenFollow

I am sorry to create a thread if this has been answered already. How do I get a token removed from my SE account if I no longer have it? For now I do the regular user and password but the other day I noticed the software token is not an option if a physical token is still registered. Any help would be appreciated.

This is what's stopping me from getting a security token immediately.. because the answer is going to be "call Square-Enix."

you have to unregister the key fob link to your account, which i'm pretty sure you need to fob and the number it generates to do so. if you do not have it, i would suggest calling SE support and asking them. sorry.

SE's questionable skills at account managing made me afraid to register one too, but I decided to go for it anyway. When you register the software app, you are given an emergency password to remove the token, in case you lose your phone. So, as long as you don't lose that too, you should be fine. If it works.

i had to do this once before, it was surprisingly painless. i can't remember if i had to call or use chat but i remember it wasn't much hassle.

Not sure if the password works, but to remove the phone one was painless, did it yesterday myself when my new fob showed up. Enter the S/N and the normal 1 time passcode.

My smartphone died recently and it was a simple matter to use the emergency password to remove the app from my account, Seems for once SE has a somewhat easier procedure than Blizzard for dealing with lost tokens
