I am currently on the solo storyline fight at Castrum Centri. Failed it a couple times this morning because I couldn't keep Biggs and Wedge alive. Is there a trick to targeting NPCs for healing that does not involve me using the mouse? Tab key only targets the enemy, and the 2 of them are so close together that I am having serious trouble being able to change targets between them. I couldn't target Wedge at all the second time once I had switched from him to Biggs.

Also, can I change out of the uniform before I enter? It would be nice to be able to wear my actual gear.

on my laptop I can't target NPC's either I can target mobs and myself fine but harvesting points and NPCs I have to use the mouse. Perhaps we have both messed up a setting? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I've never been able to cure an NPC except for the Guardian Tree in the L50 WHM quest.

First Fight:
For the first fight, take out the mage who targets you (as he'll interupt you if attacking you), then free the prisoners in the back, they will help with the fight. Urianger first, then Papalymo. Once these two are free, it should be a cake walk.

Second Fight:
Ignore the enemies, find the field generators. The Colossus at the end just has Stoneskin up, no generator, so don't waste time looking for one as you pump out 0's for the first few seconds.

Try this:
you can modify the X key to filter out certain things, adjust the filter to include npc, then tab should work.

You can also use num-4 and num-6 to cycle left and right between targets.

another option:
Target Nearest Enemy F11
Target Nearest NPC or Object F12

another option, set biggs to be a focus target (shift +f) then use target focus (f10)

They should drop these NPC's into your party when you enter the instance since that's how you'd treat it with real people playing.

Under the Abilities and traits there is a "Left Target" and "Right Target" option that you can set to a hot bar. Those will get you most easily to NPC targets without a mouse. There are other options in the targeting keybinds (which do the same thing directly). Find the ones that say Left Target, Right Target - those include NPC targets.

Another option is to go into your target filters under "While weapon is drawn" and temporarily set NPCs as one of the options.
