problem with the armory in rest roomFollow

Hi,
I am really new for MMOPRG, just about 4 weeks.
Now I am level 34 lancer and I am collecting items and gear, my armory chest and my inventory is going to fill up.
Also the inventory of my retainer if filling ... (there are so many things ...)
So I decided to leave something at the armory that I see in the room when I rest at the inn.
(Just for curiosity, but is it possible to rest also in other towns or only at the starting town ... in my case Gridania ?)
Unfortunately I have a problem ... when the windows of the armory opens there is no item available to be stored (and I have either equipped and in armory chest and in my inventory and in the inventory of my retainer).
So what I am mistaking ??? I imagine that this id probably stupid question ... but please, help me !!

I've never used the armory, but reading your post - do you know you can have two retainers?

Also, once you've outleveled a weapon you don't really need it again, I'd sell it or convert it to materia if spiritbound.

Only certain items can be stored in your armoire in your inn room. Its not the same as your armory (which is where all or most of your gear is stored). Items such as seasonal event gear, af armor can be stored in your armoire if its condition is at 100%.

Welcome to FFXIV and MMORPGs, your life will never be the same.

I see two questions.

Q: Can I use other Inns?
A: Yes. All towns have an inn at the Adventurer's Guild and you can sleep in them.

Q: What is the Armorie Chest and how do I use it?
A: EdyNOTB gave you that answer. It is mainly for those items.

Bonus Q: How do I fix my storage issues?
A: You can use two retainers. Sell silly items that you don't need. Materials can become a monster, especially if you are or want to craft. For materials, if you aren't directly using it, sell it. Unless its some uber HQ material, which is unlikely at 34, you will have a chance to get it again. Sell them on the market or NPC. If you are stocking up on gear, I would keep a few lvl 15 stuff for your next job but I wouldn't recommend keeping items for 5 or 6 jobs. Once you get multiple jobs to 30+ then you can worry about hording gear but by then you will also know what items you need and don't need.

I hope that helps a little. Good luck!

Nope, to quote the armory system

So one weapon type will only be relevant for one class.

I would take any gear your not using and convert it, even if you plan on leveling another class that can use it. Sell that materia through your retainer. By the gear the next time you need it. Why is this? I've found that a lot of the time the price of the materia out ways the cost of the armor, making you gil. Sell the mats you collect, especially if your not leveling those crafts now. The price will come down, sell them now while everyone else is leveling them.

That's a good point too.

Good advice. This is already staring to happen.

On a side note, am I the only one that read the thread title and thought the discussion was about a bathroom? :-p

Your English is better than my <insert any other language here> .

What pretty much everyone else said. Only armor I'm keeping are named dungeon items like Infantry shirt for other classes/jobs. Other than that, converted to materia or sold to GC.

The beauty of materia is it stacks so even if you don't want to immediately sell it, it shouldn't take up too much space with one of your retainers.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't come into this thread with a mental picture of some poor man struggling with a condom dispenser in a restroom Smiley: sly

On topic, I never understood exactly what the heck that feature of the inn room was supposed to do...

Its personal preference and all, but yes we need to educate WoW players that this is OUR game, these are Characters and not Toons. Time to beat that into them one at a time.

Except for staves. There is a THM/BLM staff when the staff is mainly a WHM/CNJ weapon. Your point still stands though, since there is not a THM/BLM/CNJ/WHM staff. Gear however... :)

Does it count if I'm reading this in the bathroom right now?
