No Current Plans for Final Fantasy XIV on Xbox360
During E3 2010, RPG Site sat down to interview Final Fantasy XIV's lead producer, Hiromichi Tanaka, and pick his brain over some of the major questions that have been floating around the community. One of the biggest questions that was addressed was the likelihood of an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIV, as current talks have only been about the PS3 or PC versions of the game. As of right now, according to Tanaka, there is no plans for a 360 version of the game to come out, but that Square Enix is still in talks with Microsoft about the prospects of there being one in the future.
In an interview last year with the gaming site Eurogamer, Tanaka made the comment that one of the hold-ups for a 360 version of the game was the policy of the 360 with Xbox Live being different from the internet. A recent article with Digital Spy gaming indicates that because of Xbox Live's closed infrastructure, the plans for Final Fantasy XIV being on the 360 platform are currently suspended.
