Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal Goes Live

The latest Aion update is live and with it comes a plethora of game additions and a deadly new foe.

The highly anticipated Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal update is officially live and with it comes a plethora of exciting changes for veteran players and newcomers alike. Changes include two additional classes, additional abilities, an increased level cap, and more.

While I'm not too familiar with creepy dark towers, I will say that I think I'll definitely need to be stronger before I decide to set foot in that place. Thankfully though, coming along first and foremost in this 4.0 update is the increased player level cap, granting players the strength they need to confront this dark lord--if all goes well that is.

Level cap will now be set at 65 and players will be faced with two new leveling zones, Katalam and Danaria, as they climb their way to the top. The Dragon Lord Beritra, more powerful than Tiamat herself, will be waiting to do battle with max level players in a deadly large group confrontation. Players are advised to master their abilities thoroughly before arriving at the doorstep of this dangerous foe.

Also included in the 4.0 update is the arrival of two new classes, the Gunslinger and the Songweaver.

The Gunslinger is an offensive class that wields an arsenal of guns and grenades to deal heavy damage to his enemies, while the Songweaver is a more support focused class capable of confusing enemies and aiding allies through song and magical spells.

New Survival, RvR, and Charged Skills have also been added to the game for multiple classes to take advantage of. While staying on the topic of "new additions", players creating new characters, or looking to customize the look of existing characters, will find that a line-up of new hairstyles and dances have been added.

With the launch of 4.0 and its new additions being brought to Aion, Chief Operating Officer at NCSoft West, Richard Zinser, had this to say:

"We’ve had players asking about the launch of Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal since last year. The number of people coming to our website searching for Aion 4.0 is similar to the traffic we had at Aion’s launch. We’re keeping the fans happy, and Aion 4.0 was at the forefront of their asks."

Aion 4.0: Dark Betrayal is sure to bring players a ton of additional content. If you're an Aion player, let us know what feature or addition you're most excited about in the comments below. For more Aion information head on over to its official website and keep an eye on ZAM for more news updates.
