"Wings of the Goddess"



The development of "Wings of the Goddess", a new FINAL FANTASY XI expansion disc, was announced today at the SQUARE ENIX PARTY 2007.
In conjunction with this announcement, a new site has been created to provide the latest development details as they become available, as well as give fans the opportunity to view exclusive images from the expansion.

I guess some people dont realize that SE releases an Expansion almost every year...

this is the 5 year aniversery, and there have been three expansions (Rise of Zilart, Chains of promathia and Treasures of Aht Urhgan) thats 4 if you count the original game, and this new one makes 5. Due to the name of the expansion "Wings of the Goddess" sounding alot like so much like "Chains of Promathia" I'd guess that this one will be much more story based and unlikly to have any new jobs. each expansion also introduced a new audience to the game, the original game= Japan, RoZ=USA, CoP=Europe, ToAU=360 players, WotG=??? wonder where this one will go?

So given that, the people that are saying omg another expansion? the game has to be dying! obviously havent payed much attention to the way SE works...

As for the expansion itself it looks like its gonna focus on areas like Batallia and the beastman stongholds before the great war, which only had the original 17 jobs before ToAU. This also begs the question, what about dynamis, which is a re-enactment of the great war? hmm... I'd say in the way of new contents the only one that would make sence is the Far North where the Gigas live, and maybe Tavnazia will truly be unlocked? hmmmmmm....

Wow, this totally caught me off guard. I really didn't expect another expansion to be in the works even! Way to go SE! And by the looks of it, we'll be traveling to the past. Clearly they were showing zones of today and how they look, glitching, and then showing the zones and how they looked in the past.

I honestly can't wait. And if Time mage is in any way involved, all I can say is... my wishes have finally come true. <3 Time mage. Anyone else notice the odd meteor or comet shown in much of the video footage?

Hmm... I wonder..

Seems to be a chance to be present for and maybe fight in The Great War. Perhaps all out PvP in the war zones? More powerful magic? Beastmen at the peak of their power with the Dark Lord running around? A chance to finally burn Sandy to the ground?! So much potential.

TOAU failed Hard, can't wait to see what this one does~ Make it even easier for people to get to 75?, Make it so people rig parties together that ...no matter what setup work decently? This game is getting to easy, First they changed exp, then they gave exp rings, then they gave loltoau mobs on top of that they gave sanction. Yay I can party with more people that have no idea wtf is going on at 75~

Yeah I didn’t see this coming. But we have gotten a lot of what they said would be in the expansion not everything but a lot. Also have you guys noticed that the updates have been getting smaller and smaller lol.
