A Revenant is a risen dead, just like zombies. But Unlike a Zombie, which is mindless, a Revenant retains all or most of the memories and personality it had in life, and may continue doing the job it held when alive. Many Revenants simply do not realize they are dead and need a small reminder to encourage them to return to the Aether.
