Well i don't know about all the ppl who say lvl 1s can't do it but i just did. Ran all the way from east Ron to the last sign post in jugner and then to the arms dealer at the lake without catching agro on the first try.. This is not imposible if you have a idea where your going.

You cant do this as level one its impossible. You have to get rank 2 in San dOria and i know a level one cant take on 1-2 Orcs lest alone going through the tombs and killing a couple and ding bats AND the the battlefield for the final task for level 2.

Well... as a 40 WHM I decided its time to do some quests and actually get enough fame in Bastok and Sandy to get the teleport scrolls. So I started in sandy doing quest after quest region by region. I get to the Forest and head to the outpost while I clean the signs and what do I find but an empty outpost and a Beastmen Banner hanging there... All I have to say is that some people aren't doinf their jobs! ^^

Happy New Year Everyone

Actually, it is feasible to run through La Theine as a level one anything. I've done it twice trying to do the Davoi Report (2/2). I was able to make it to the Davoi entrance twice without aggro. I was KO'd once at the entrance. Turned back the second time. If you do get aggroed you're dead. But the idea is to not lose exp. It does take considerable more time.

You do not need a 10 Fame to get this quest.
I have level 3 San d'Oria Fame and have completed this quest. I believe you simply have to complete the Father/Son quest in the same shop as Rappa said.

When it says 10 fame that simply means that you need to have completed at leasst 10 quests prior to this one. It can get confusing but sometimes people put the number of quests instead of the fame level.
lvl needed forrunning around in jugner!

when i did my choco quest w 18rdm/9war and was aggrod like you wouldnt believe!first time i got jumped by a tiger we killed it and then a second aggrod almost instantly needless to say i was eating dirt.Second time around got aggrod again but pulled a carl lewis and ran through non stop(praying for the best the whole way)with orcs and gobs in hot pursuit fortunately there was a party hunting tigers there so i was spared a running death!(tigers are faster then anything ive seen!)Im lv 28rdm/14 blm now and am free to roam the forest without worry but if your thinking of trying this at any lv lower than 18 think twice itll save you tons of frustration!(and a few lvs)

For the people who can't seem to get this quest... I was having problems getting it to start today with level 8 Sandy fame. However, as soon as I finished the Father and Son quest (which involves Exorche, an npc also located in Helbort's shop), Helbort immediately gave me this quest. So I think that Father and Son is a prerequisite for this quest.
How not to lose exp
# Dec 11 2003 at 12:06 AM Rating: Default
If you don't want to lose exp when trying this out, you can just change your job to something you haven't levelled up yet. Plus, when you're done, you can just suicide instead of having to run all the way back, and you won't even feel bad about it :) This is also a good tactic for getting through zones on long trips.

uh thats a good theory but if you are a lv one anything i love to see you cavort around la thiene much less jugner the rabbits in lathiene would pick their teeth w a lv one anything! you would not lose xp but you would not live long enough to see your destination!Anyways if you try to go to jugner w a lv one anything id love to see it i need a good laugh!

It's doable

You can get this quest I guess at any level. It just depends on your fame. Got it around level 12 or so with my Windurst allied Taru. Had just done a bunch of quests in San D' Oria and eventually got this one. While Jugner Forest is certain death for someone my level, it is doable. You just have to avoid the aggro. When you enter Jugner from the mountain area whatever it's name, you'll have to travel all the way across the zone to get where you need to go. Open up your map and you'll see in the top left corner a lake. That's where the NPC is. I did this quest while doing the sign quest. I found it was easier to stay off the path since the path sometimes goes below the level of the ground and it's hard to see aggro that might be nearby up top. I did die after I talked to the NPC. Was resting near the Outpost and decided to check my map. Just before my map opened I saw a goblin nearby. Well I wasn't able to get up in time to avoid aggro. I ran and ran and thought I'd gotten away but he had picked up a friend and I made a wrong turn past some ghosts into a dead end.

This quest is easy as pie as long as you are able to SEE. Keep away from Orcs and Tigers and you will be good as gold. Many San D'Orians have to run through this entrie zone anyway to get to Jeuno for the Choco Quest. If you are worried enter the zone and find someone thats higher in lvl to guide you through.

RE: Darn Tiger
# Feb 05 2004 at 9:39 AM Rating: Default
it's not a matter of level - you just have to keep your eyes open for Goblins and Tigers. As long as you go around them (watch out - the tigers move very fast), you'll be fine.

My lvl 21 MNK can solo here, but I still must avoid the tigers, which are IT. So you're not 'safe' in this zone until around lvl 30. But if you keep your eyes open and look around, you should be fine.
