Summary

Kuoh tried to feed the sick Chocobo some "secret cure-all medicament", but it wouldn't swallow it. She wants to try and hide the taste by mixing it in some of the bird's favorite food, if you can help obtain some...

Walkthrough

You must zone out and wait until the next game day after completing Chocobilious in order to receive this quest.

To begin, talk to Kuoh Rhel. After that, talk to Matata, who is right next to Kuoh Rhel. He mentions mixing the medicine in some of Ranpi-Monpi's Special Stew from the Culinaran's Guild. Obtain three Woozyshrooms and take them to Ranpi-Monpi in Windurst Waters at (D-9).

If you currently have the "A Crisis in the Making" or "The Dawn of Delectability" quests active, he won't talk to you about his special stew, but you can still trade them to him for the key item.

After you obtain the special stew, return to Kuoh Rhel for your reward.

Where to get shrooms

The easiest way to get the woozyshrooms to drop instead of the sleepshrooms is to go to the Spore Hollow region and kill the funguar there. I got the three shrooms needed in five kills, I think, and not a single drop from any on the road. Even if it was just my luck that the shrooms dropped so quick, there are certainly a lot more funguar there to be killed.

You can also grow woozyshrooms with grain seeds + dark crystals.

I can confirm that this quest is repeatable. I've been able to do it once after every conquest tally, which means once every real life week.

Sleepshrooms?!?!

I've killed plenty of the Jugner Funguar and all I ever got were Sleepshrooms. Not Woozyshrooms. THe Funguar I killed were all on the path. Do I have to go to a specific area in the Forest in order for the Funguar to drop Woozyshrooms?
RE: Sleepshrooms?!?!

The Funguar on the path in Jugner will indeed drop the Woozyshrooms, they don't drop as frequently as the sleepshrooms however. I killed these Funguar as 35thf and it did take several kills to get my 3 woozies for the quest. As a side note,.. I had plenty of sleepshrooms to do the repeatable "Gourmet" quest in Bastok Markets. good luck with this!^^

fame??
# Jan 24 2004 at 4:29 AM Rating: Default
is there a fame requirement for this quest? I've done completed 22 windurst quests and she won't give me the quest.
not true

Ranpi-Monpi will just babble about the "Crisis in the making" quest if you're on it when you do this quest.. BUT.. just hand him the 3 woozy shrooms anyways and you will get the stew for the chocobo anyway.
Not Worth It As Much As Before?
# Dec 16 2003 at 7:47 PM Rating: Default
Is it just me, or is this quest not worth it as much as the one before it? The first we got 1.5K gil for it, right? This is only 900 gil.
clarifications

I think the "Crisis in the Making" thing is that if you have the quest active then he wont talk to you about the stew (he just talks about the offering quest). So you either need to never initiate that quest, or you need to finish it and make sure not to restart it, and you can get him to talk about the stew.

The info about having to complete the "Crisis in the making" quest is incorrect. I am a 16 Mithra Red Mage, Rank 2, had 23 completed quests prior to "In a Stew" and have never done the "crisis in the making" quest and had no problem at all getting the stew.

Quest seems to be repeatable after a while.
I talked to what's-her-name again and asked for more stew.

The quest is called "In a Stew" and he needs 3 "Woozy Shrooms" from those Fungar in Jugner Forest.
