Assuming SE ignores you and then continues to ignore the IPO and any fines they might bring against them what happens after that? Because I have a suspicion that this is where they are going.

Adjust the resolution of menus.
The main screen resolution for "FINAL FANTASY XI" is dependent on the "Overlay Graphics Resolution" setting.
If the Overlay Graphics Resolution is set higher than the Menu Resolution, menus will be automatically resized.

I thought of it first:

Not entirely sure they'll be able to ignore the ICO on this. The caseworker there is pretty pissed with how unhelpful they've been so far, and I think the threat of magistrates might make SE take notice.

Out of interest, does anyone speak fluent Japanese? I ask, as I considered maybe as an information note to do a letter outlining things to the head office in Japan. Not sure if it's worth it, but might at least make them listen.

its company policy not to provide customer service, via customer service you wont have much luck going to japan.

Just let them get into sh*t up to their necks, it'll be more entertaining that way.

Just from today, as I was bored:

Quote:
SEL Agent Dai: I just got information that your case is still in the hands of our legal department. Therefore we unfortunately don't have any new information for you at this point of time. You will likely receive a correspondence from them this week and for further inquiries regarding this issue, you would need to contact them. I'm sorry that I don't have better news

Actually took a number for their legal department, but was told "It's company policy not to take the call unless you can give us a named employee, which we're not going to reveal to you".

this whole thing has the feel of someone poking a sleeping bear with a stick.

Not to say its stupid or anything, because in this instance the bear's hands are tied, but a funny image nonetheless.

Poke on brother!
/poke.

Unfortunately, the SE bear is too lazy to react to this poking. I think if we all poked it together, then it might actually get off it's **** and do something.

SE doesn't count as a sleeping bear, that bear would more accurately be the players (Taiko to be specific), or the Data Protection Act. SE ****** around and they more or less have the law on their ***** now, and are responding the way an armadillo would, curling up tightly in the hopes the predator will go away.

Just had this email:

Quote:
Hi,

The lawyer who is dealing with this is back tomorrow and after a conversation earlier with her, she will prioritise this matter.
I can confirm it is being dealt with and you will be contact soon.

Thanks

Prioritise? You're working to deadlines, should've been done ages ago.

Also, why is a lawyer handling this, and not the data controller? Surely this is a bit above a lawyers remit, putting documents in the post that did not need any legal changes.

Ah well, let's wait and see.

Postman hadn't been when I left for work today. I guess, to allow for service, I have to allow tomorrow as a postage day too.

Hopefully it will be waiting for me when I arrive home.

The more I find out about these extremely shady practices at SE, the more I think they're a crooked business owned by the yakuza, and are used to people in Japan just leaving them alone because of that. It's nice to see them finally facing someone that won't back down out of Japanese politeness/fear.

I really don't think they have any idea how to deal with that. After the mess that still is FF14's launch, I'm actually looking forward to the pain train they're adding fuel to themselves. This story has a sort of sinister fascination to it. Like watching a mouse heading straight for a rattle-snake in those nature documentaries.

Do keep this thread posted on how this goes down because I'm sure everyone is openly or secretly waiting for the bucket to tip and SE to take a huge spank on the rear for their perpetual arrogance.

Oh SE, you used to be my idol. Now I wouldn't work for you if you gave me my own project. Dirty dirty mess of a company.

Just telephoned the main POL helpline. Unfortunately, and I quote, they are too busy dealing with FF14 queries right now to respond to my Subject Access Request and provide the transcripts.

They're really trying to use every excuse they can think of to avoid having to deal with the whole situation, aren't they?

I already finished 2 buckets, this is moving along at a slow pace either SE has to burn before the end of the season or you need to get your docs. Otherwise I don't think the network will pick you up for season 2.

They probably think they can just ignore it and it'll go away eventually.

They are in for a rude surprise.
