I don't follow anything Facebook, so I'm not exactly sure what the joke about Zuckerberg being badly dubbed and making sound effects was about.

Same, I've never actually heard Zuckerberg talk, so I didn't know if they were making fun of his voice, or what the whole "You can't block me!" thing was. I really just assumed they phoned this one in, and just took the previous "Coon and Friends" superhero commercial and spliced in some quickly dubbed meme-type jokes about Zuckerberg and Fake News to make it topical.

Edit: Cartman's superhero name is censored.

That can't possibly be a surprise. Smiley: tongue I assumed (most likely incorrectly, at that) that the whole "You can't block me!" thing was something about people's ability to block other users on Facebook, and somehow Zuckerberg's posts, well, can't be?

Director Josh Boone just confirmed on Instagram that we'll see the first footage from his upcoming X-Men spinoff, New Mutants tomorrow at midnight PT/3am ET/8am UK time. Kind of convenient it'll be Friday the 13th, when it's expected the movie itself will borrow heavily/be based on the Demon Bear saga, which was about as horror as a cape comic can get at the time. Which I'll most likely post here because that's what I do.

Also want to point out that Blink has the best teleport effects on TV, followed by Lockjaw, and finally Cisco and his weird cloud portals. Flash's special effects in general are wonky to the point of hilarity, like when he was running up the windmill it's basically just two frames of animation.

And here is that New Mutants trailer. Definitely a different tone than the rest of the FoX-Men franchise.

The Gifted has so much better CG than Inhumans. That propane tank explosion in Inhumans... that was some Z Nation season 1 level CG there.

Young Princess is gonna fall for the first Human to touch her...

And tattooed statistics guy's situation has me going "Huh?" a bit. I get now that he hit his head his calculations and future-vision is all messed up. But how would he have slipped in the first place? He would (should) have been able to see the slip and avoided it like he had the attack before he left the Moon.

Black Panther trailer. Not a particular fan of how T'challa and Killmonger's costumes are identical.

Trying to find something to watch on TV in Germany. I don't think I'll ever understand EU Cable. Italy was just as strange.

Stumbling thru it all, I found Comedy Central, and it was airing Bob's Burgers. But Bob's Burgers without Jon Benjamin or the kids' English voices (especially Gene and Louise) just doesn't work.

WiFi here is not great... and IT "upgraded" my work phone to an international data plan... of a whopping 250MB Roaming Data per month. First day I used 50MB. Coworkers all agreed it was too little. I have to turn it on to use Roaming Data just so it will download text messages and then turn it back off.

Maybe I'll find some late afternoon/night German Boobs on TV. I always hear about how they are more open with nudity on TV.

TILT
Got around to watching The Tick. The wife dropped out after the second episode but I liked it and appreciated that they tried to do something a little different than pure slapstick and farce. I probably only laughed out loud once or twice an episode but I was amused and interested throughout. I did think that episodes five and six started to gel better comedicly. Looking forward to the second half of the season dropping "soon".

Minor gripe: The "Is that a suit or is he naked?" thing didn't work so well in this episode. The animated version was visually simple and the Fox version has that foam suit with no obvious seams or breaks. But this suit is obviously cloth with armor plates on it. You can see his sleeves, for heaven's sake.

I suppose the suit itself is more visually consistent with Arthur's suit (which I do like over the bunny pajamas) but it doesn't make that one joke work.

I wondered the same thing back when watching the pilot. The only thing I can think is that something about being on Earth instead of the Moon is messing with his abilities somehow. Gravity? Electromagnetic fields? Different rotational speed? Coriolis effect? Air density? Butterfly flapping its wings somewhere? Dunno. It's theoretically possible that someone who calculates every minute detail in his head could be seriously thrown off by something that normal people would never notice. That makes a lot more sense to me than "he bumped his head". Also, he presumably will be able to adjust to this over time.

I am glad that Medusa and Black Bolt actually got back together this episode. It felt for a moment like they were going to have her show up just after he escaped. Which would have generated serious rage.
