perating System | Windows Vista 32-bit

CPU | AMD Athlon(tm) X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 2,61 GHz

RAM | Windows Vista Home Premium (6.0, Build 6002) Service Pack 2

Graphics Card | NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT

Sound Card | Realtek HD Audio (DirectX 9.0c)

DirectX | DirectX 9.0c

My goal is to run FF14 well. I don't want to take the cheap way out, but I'm not rich either. Good and reasonable is what I'm looking at.
I know that I need a new graphics card. Am considering the ATI Radeon HD 5670 is this a good choice? Yes/no

What else might I need to do here? Please Help...

It's a decent card... but you're still going to only have a dual core processor. And an AMD at that.

That's a weird type of RAM, is it better then DDR3?

And get at least a 5770. Refer to the sticky for anything else.

Windows Vista Home Premium is your OS, not your RAM ~.~;

Also, 5770 or better, or GTX 2XX or better. Radeon 58XX/59XX or GTX 4XX for even better performance. I wouldn't recommend any less than that. Replacing an outdated card with a budget card will result in poorer performance than one might hope for. Budget cards ($130 and under) are good for games that are 3-4 years old, but if you're trying to run a really high end game, I wouldn't suggest less than $160-200 for good performance. The question you have to ask yourself is: Do I want to pay $110-120 for a BRAND NEW part to run the game on LOW settings, or do I want to shell out a little more to make it look better?

Do you think the card is enough? 'bsphil' mentioned my processor being dual core, is that a problem? or can the game rum smoothly?

Dual core is indeed the -minimum- requirement, but if you want good performance, I would personally not even consider running the game on less than a quad core.
