Annoying UI lag after recent patch?Follow

So I started the game up and patched today. I didn't play until later. I noticed some VERY annoying mouse lag. I noticed it in the menus as well. The game will freeze the UI for a second and then it will resume. It seems to only affect the UI, as my character seems to move fluidly like normal during these "lag" moments.

Here's a video demonstrating what I am experiencing. I am constantly moving the mouse in the video, but you will notice the mouse hand stops moving every now and then. This is NOT done by me, but the game freezing the UI.

I'm not certain if the patch is what caused this. I actually patched up recently and then wanted to system restore. I was forced to patch again, obviously. I've also been using alt-tab to logout of the game more than normal, recently.

Is anyone else experiencing this or is it possible I need to reinstall?

Isn't everyone experiencing UI lag due to it being server side and mouse lag since it's a software mouse not hardware?

I've been playing the open beta since it started. I haven't experienced anything like I showed in the video until today.

I've been playing since April and this problem has been there the whole time.

I find it odd that it didn't start for me until today.

Well, reinstalling apparently fixed it. The only mouse lag I got was when the game was loading textures (i.e. when entering town). Video proof.

EDIT: And, BTW. I'm not certain if people payed attention to my first post or what I was trying to point out in the video. To clarify, yes, the mouse is sluggish. What I was trying to point out was that my UI was constantly "freezing" every few seconds. As you can tell in the new video, yes, the mouse still looks sluggish, but it's not freezing at all.

First time I've seen that too.

OT: Did your macros save when you reinstalled? (if you had any) Been thinking about reinstalling but don't want to lose my macros.

My macros did not save. I noticed there's a "user" folder in the My Documents > My Games > FFXIV folder, so I'm wondering if you can preserve that folder and it might save them. I don't know for sure though. When uninstalling, it actually didn't delete the FFXIV folder in your My Games folder. I deleted it myself just because I wanted to do it completely fresh.

I think it's coincidence that it's fixed. I played all day and until about 5PM eastern I saw no mouse lag, then it started. I believe it has to do with the number of people logged into the servers.
