Time to fess up all you 20 somethings. Have you found some super secret quest that lets you activate chocobos? Have you fought a boss yet? Have the story quests stopped being run from point A to B and watch cutscenes (even FFXI early missions were more interactive than that)? Have you unlocked Ishgard yet? Have the higher level leves become more interesting like SE says they are? Have you found anything other than grind leves like your life depended on it?

We're all dying to know, because apparently this game has content somewhere hidden in it. They couldn't have possibly taken this long to create a game with a couple hundred quests (or less) in it, less cutscenes than a single player FF, and tons of palette swapped enemies, could they?

To pretty much every one of your questions: no.
20 story has you fight some things. You'll also obtain something somewhat exciting (at least it was to me) at the end of it. Won't spoil it for anyone though.

Eepik could you just clarify if you were job rank 20 or physical level 20 when you got the 3rd story quest. Thanks.

Also to people going nuts about guild marks, I was able to obtain some on a leve quest for a rank 12 (yes 12) pugilist and Physical level 18. It was an optimal 20 one in Uldah and I have mostly done leves in Limsa.

I really don't think they have implemented any of that in game yet. And when you say they spent [5 years] developing this game... I can't imagine it was five years with a dedicated full time staff... no way. Well maybe the design team has been working full time for 5 years (game looks great) but I am thinking the content and programming teams have spent maybe 2 years working full time.

5 years isn't that long really. I see people come to sites where I'm a member to design games thinkin they're gonna make an mmo like this all the time. They don't realize that a good mmo from start to release would take an experienced team of decent size 7+ years to actually make. Leaning more towards 15 unless you have lots of funding and at least a few gurus. It's not like they're taking unreal or unity engine and just slapping up some textures and changing some numbers around. 5 years is pretty much just shooting out an mmo. I doubt they have blizzard like funding to get the same result they did in 5 years.

My guess is that the majority of the game hasn't been released yet, and won't be until the 30th so that we don't get too far ahead of everyone else.

Just look at how many areas are closed off, or how many shops and such are scattered around the map that aren't open. My guess is that the standard release will be adding quite a bit of this to the game (or shortly after, anyways)

I can't blame them much for the current content problem. If I was driving this bus I would sure as **** get the game running smooth then start adding in the icing. doing that in reverse leads to a Runes of Magic situation. Those of you who have played it recently since the last expansion will know what I mean.(you poor bastiges)

as of now the only Bosses i have seen are the Behest quests. after you kill all the mobs the Main target appears/boss. IN Lim LO the boss at the lvl 10 camp is pretty cool looking. Also the story line seems to give you access to things such As parley( mini game) that's you can play but you do not get anything if you win. And the....... ya the next quest you need to beat it if i tell you, you wouldn't believe me. It seems you get another chapter at every 5 class rank. 5,10,15,20...ect.
