Restarting in FFXIV, need advice.Follow

So After playing from launch for about a month I hung up my character. The lag and various other problems we all know got to me. I based my character on my FFXI one and felt the magic leave. Perhaps I was expecting to much, or just wanted to continue with that same one I spent six years with.

So tonight I will be deleting and remaking my character. Well first I will delete her, log out, enter the code for the rite of passage, then create my new character. I cannot log in since my token is MIA, so based on server populations and such, what would be a friendly starting server? About medium to semi full player base, where I will not have to wait 15 minutes just to log in.

Thanks in advance for any help on where to restart.

That hasn't happened in a long time. No servers are that full.

Last I saw, rabanastre and wutai were the most full servers. Login queues will never happen.

I'm updating now, and have a level 7 conjurer I'm coming back to. What do I do first?

What you did before. There is no change there.

Am I going to enjoy it more? More mobs, less lag, mob don't run away randomly and regen health?

The UI is less lagged. Mobs still run away. Enjoyment? That's up to you.

More mobs - Yes
Less lag - Yes
Mob don't run away randomly and regen health - Yes, it's actually recommended to pull mob with ranged now. Sometimes this work against you though, like Dwarf Diremite randomly chase you half of the map.

Thanks for the tips. I do not know what server varies from the next, so I guess I will have to look for a decent sized one. I am glad to see that more monsters are about, although that could be a reflection of lower population sizes. It is annoying to read that they still run away and regain health. I got so frustrated getting killed by a 'low to medium' leveled mob., He ran and fully healed 6 times. used up almost all my ammo.

Mobs have area where they roams called territory that they'll run back to if you move out of their range, once they returned to their territory they will not recover back their HP until a certain amount of time, so you wont have to worry about them fully healing their HP anymore during battle. Link to the first patch notes if you're interested in reading about the updates/changes that they've made.
