Footage of the limit break system. I do like the faster-paced battle system. Looking forward to it.

Apologies for the duplicate post. The PAX Presentation in the other thread does show other gameplay, but this is a YouTube-official version of the movie that they play at the end.

I wonder when we can see footage for the Summoners? Also I kind of like the fortified windmills.

Some of those outside zones seem to have some XI flavor to them. One of them reminds me Konschtat Highlands, curious to see the other revamps.

The level design is so different. Nice to see it wont be 15% unique, 85% cut and paste of that.

I like the windmills too.

It all looks quite nice. At this point all I can really hope for are battles of a sufficient length to actually require us to use these fancy abilities.

Have been out of loop for a bit so I don;t know if they have shown it already but was that a male Miqo'te shown at the very end? Looked a little butch to me :)

Looks awesome, can't wait for the PS3 version to come out :)

It sure was! Male Miqo'te and female Roegadyn have been confirmed and re-confirmed for 2.0. Smiley: nod

Considing how much money SE are throwing at this game it must be scaring them to death how little interest there is.

I got excited when I saw this limit break video. It appears limit breaks will be useful in fighting bosses but will it be practical in more mundane situations? I think the video alluded at 0:35 and 1:31 that they might indeed be used in party situations outside of raids.

I am now very interested to learn the details of execution and how teamwork and timing will play into these new limit breaks. Variety and selection of the abilities are also of great interest to me. The old XI skillchain charts were loaded with a variety of chains but if you didn’t have a guide picking the ideal skillchain for each situation was nearly impossible. I want a similar tier structure and variety in the new limit break system but with enhanced usability.

Oh, yeah! I remember getting a good party together in FFXI and coming up with a nice skillchain and magic burst. Everyone would be working together, damage bonuses would be wracking up all the time, and the experience points would flow in. It was all very rewarding, both personally and, of course, in-game, as well.

Yes, I became quite sad when SC's were only used on HNM's for the BLM's. Certainly miss the good old days of lvl 40~ THF and SAM popping SATA Distortions on Scorpions.

I played in a static trio for about a year; sometimes we brought along a fourth. We went places most players never even heard about (like Bostaunieux Oubliette hehe) and always had a nice skillchain + magic burst organized. Because of that, my hours with FFXI were full of variety and teamwork. Good times - although I know not everyone shares my experiences. Smiley: cool
